Re: Twitter: The Thread: The Video Game
So this is what Let's Plays have come to.
For context, read this:
http://notch.net/2014/03/lets-talk-about-zexyzek/
For some reason the kid noticed that there was a line in the terms and conditions for making Minecraft videos that said "no trolling" so he emailed Mojang about it and they were like "I guess you can't" so he posted a video of himself literally crying despite the fact that nobody said he had to remove all of his videos, and that he has 700,000 subscribers and I doubt everyone would leave just cause he made a normal video.
Why do these people get 700k subscribers?

As for subscribers, right place at the right time Ashan, that's all there is to it most of the time.
Edit: Did I really miss that you linked that link in your post?
Godsdamn. I blame sleep deprivation.

Oh, boy. Daddy says he's ungrounded from playing his video games so he's happy again.

Yeah, God forbid he gets an extra 10 views from Talkhaus, clearly I'm just shoving cash into his wallet.

a) That's a bare-faced lieZexyZek wrote:Not crying though, because that would be weak
b) His intonation on that makes me think that was beaten into him at some point, especially after the later line "trying to mask the emotion"
c) Pretty sure your legs shaking falls under the same category of weakness
Really? I doubt it. Why would you be sorry about something that got you a silver plaque and a wall of fan-mail?ZexyZek wrote:I'm very sorry to all the people I've trolled
This would be the perfect video for Retsupurae to look at if they weren't banned from using other people's faces without their permission.

I only just saw this one and it's somehow much, much more insufferable than the first one. I think it's him repeatedly saying that "hate mail is bad" while at the same time saying "you guys' hate mail saved me. Thanks guys, well done!" What a little shit.Ashan wrote:Oh, boy. Also, I don't know how much YouTube ad revenue is exactly, but if you're uploading a video each day and each one gets around 65000 views, that's surely enough ad revenue to move out of your parents' house.

According to this dangle he could be earning anywhere from 20$ to 160$ per video, rounding off.
Ad revenue from what I gather is different for each user based on a lot of things, so.
If we take the median of that, 90$ per video, if he uploads a video a day and gets exactly 65,000 views on each, he'd be making 2,700$ per month, using an average 30 day month.
That's definitely enough for an apartment, at the very least, I think.

So I finally got to see my mom after she had her surgery. She is doing wonderfully. She wanted to show off this new trench coat she bought...

I'm glad your mom is still on the road to recovery, Maiku.
Edit: On a less important note, that YT discussion always makes me wonder if I should have done AdSense on stuff when I had the chance. I just never felt right making money off of other people's work, though, so eh. I guess it's all good since the people that watch my videos are generally calm. Besides, it probably wouldn't work out anyway considering that PayPal link I had up there for awhile now has done much of anything for me, either. Oh well!

Oh god - I'll never unsee that now.
The first thing I would do with infinite power would be to make myself a cave where I could look at my shadow forever.
<- Go team Yeah Doctor Shemp.!
<- That's everyone being nice to me. ^^
I made a game called Utter Confusion! Play it! :D
It's a lot of fun and has been incredibly popular at every indie game dev party I've brought it to.
