Is the third shift at least long enough that you'd be getting overtime pay? I'd consider working a shitty workweek or two before quitting to build up some $$$. Though I guess it depends on what your work is, whether it'd worth it or not.alex2 wrote:Jesus fucking christ the third shifter at my work just put in her two weeks and I'm the only other person trained to do thirds.
Looks like I'm quitting.

Why are you subjecting yourself to such torture, exactly? That sounds painful, depriving yourself of food for so long when you're already probably not eating enough.

I'm back from leaving for the past couple days, I had work that needed tending to and I did it, not that it really matters to anyone or the people I live around. They take everything for granted

From how she's evaded your question, I suspect she doesn't know the answer herself (I agree with you that it's torture).cheez8 wrote:...Horikawa Otane wrote:The issue today is that I ate a soup that I THOUGHT was about 150 calories, but it ended up being about 450 and that means I can't have dinner tonight, sadly.

I'm sure she appreciates the sympathy, but I'd say it's not our business to tell her she shouldn't be doing this. She probably isn't just choosing her diet on a whim.

Just went outside and had the first good 'ol marshmallow roasting in a long time. Still isn't snowy here yet, so there was no problem.
Other than it was wet outside and it took a while and a lot of lighter fluid to really get the fire going. But seriously, good times.

Right, and it seems like a rather severe diet, so I was curious. I hope it didn't come across as saying she's doing the wrong thing, because that's not what I meant at all!Ditocoaf wrote:I'm sure she appreciates the sympathy, but I'd say it's not our business to tell her she shouldn't be doing this. Yeah. I'm not going to tell anybody what they should do... just offer my own two cents if it's okay.
In other news, 42 degrees Fahrenheit! So long to you, snow and cold. My mouth is already feeling a bit better, and I hope it stays that way!

You sure we're talking about same numbers? 800 a day is what comes up in countries in poverty.

Aaaand I'm done playing La-Mulana. I saved over my hard-mode-near-completion save on accident with a save near the begining and there's no fucking way I'm doing all that again

Re: Twitter: The Thread
I think very few of you have any idea what a healthy level of calories is. Bwarch, for example, mentioned 2800 calories a day being a healthy amount. Even if you're a man who's 6'6" and weighs 300 lbs, your basal metabolic rate calorie requirement (the amount you need to eat per day to maintain your lean mass) is only 2345-2865 calories, depending on your bodyfat percentage and age.
Basically, unless you're a giant of a man like raocow, eating that much is really not a good idea.
Out of curiosity I calculated a BMR calorie rate for the average woman. Assuming the average US female height of 5'5" and the average US female weight of 164.7 lbs (which seems very high for 5'5", but maybe that's a mean skewed by the extremely obese), then the BMR for that woman would be 1455-1780 calories. HOWEVER, using what would actually be a healthy weight for a woman of that height (130 lbs), the BMR comes out as being 1315-1605 calories a day. However, adjusting for maximum safe weight loss, it's 1260-1540 calories a day.
So 800-1000 calories a day is unsafe (unless you're particularly short) but not by anywhere near as much as some of you are making it out to be.

You are a gentleman and a scholar and I concede to your superior logic and research. Iirc we actually have raocow's actual height to the letter. We had a thread going where we submitted all our heights and made a graph of Talkhaus heights. Rao participated~
Unless it was lost in Talkhaustrophe, of course...

I think he's six foot five, or thereabouts. The chart does appear to have been lost. I seem to remember GanonTEK's about the same height as me, that's about it. Somebody should start that again.

I try to imagine the ASMBXT universe with the raocow character at 6'5", which becomes hard to do at points.
Do we have a cannon height for chibi cow? I might need to do some pixel height conversions.

Well... at least I'm not the shortest here at 163cm. Pretty darn close, though.
I'm probably significantly older than the people around my height range, though.

Re: Twitter: The Thread
That chart is stupid cause it starts at 5' and makes it look like raocow is like 6 times the height of Redsy. It also goes up by decimal increments despite the fact that it's in feet so it makes no sense.
Mine was better except for the fact that it was super squished together. And not in order.

C'mon, I thought we all agreed that my chart was objectively the best one.
