I enjoyed it. Although, the scene near the end where a bunch of bad dudes were being murdered by good dudes had some pretty bad blood effects.
what bothered me most was how the kids' base was in a desert, but the forests of Canada were literally within binocular vision. how was that even possible

I don't know about the desert areas in California but the edges of large sandy areas in general can have some weird borders. There's an area here in Oregon where there's a shit load of sand but it doesn't actually count as a desert and the borders of this place immediately go straight into a forest. It's really freaking weird.

Slowly but surely, I'm getting less pain in my arm which is allowing me to do very light workouts with it. I still have days where I have to take it easy, but it feels like it's getting better.

Yeah, its not unusual for forests to be mixed in dry, rocky or sandy areas, especially in the Southwest US. Trees will grow wherever conditions are favorable. As Alice said, that wasn't a real desert either. If you want to see sand dunes in a forest, google the Kobuk sand dunes I. Alaska. I gotta admit, I couldn't believe they tried to pass off the filming location (New Mexico) as the North Dakota-Canada border, as if that terrain exists there. Still a great movie, though.

You gotta film where it's closer and cheaper (and sometimes safer) to get more bang for your buck.

I know exactly when and how I want to die.
April 1st, 2101
I will have lived in 3 centuries, 2 millennia, and over 100 years
Ideally I would die in a comical way (hit by a clown car?) so everyone thinks it's just a big April Fools joke

Death by piano or anvil to the head is the only way to go.

Yeah, that is a neat feature.

Oh, hey. I've got more mobility in my shoulder and arm again. That is nice. Won't risk working out like crazy yet, but I'm doing a lot of motion exercises to keep the thing healthy.

So, I saw Matilda. It was a movie. I just ended up feeling bad for Trunchbull because of that torment Matilda put her through.

Who doesn't have an iron maiden though? That's like standard equipment for any girl.

I would be a good parent.

Although, I guess I just really wanted actual character development for Trunchbull.

So, my teacher decided to go with our class through the contents of AP calculus AB...

... the contents of AB are so freaking tiny! We had covered it all before Christmas, and had been studying for what he thought was Calculus AB, but was actually Calculus BC. Considering the fact that AP teachers are technically locked into teaching only the subjects their classrooms are registered for, I'm really glad that he accidentally taught the BC material. AB covers so little that it's a bit sad.

He's also going to continue giving us BC material off the record, so that's nice too. Just practice material though--we have to learn concepts ourselves.

I was really worried about my Algorithms and Data Structures final that was this past Monday. I got a 50 on the midterm which didn't get my hopes up, but I did good on almost all the assignments. Regardless, I guess had more of an understanding of what the prof's quizzes were like for the final, and I ended up somehow getting a 90 on it which blew my mind. And apparently the assignments were worth like 50% of your overall grade, so I ended the class with an 86. I was not expecting that at all.
I also wrote a calculus final yesterday (Saturday) which I don't really know how to feel about. And have 2 more finals on the 24th (tomorrow) and 26th so hopefully I can keep it up.

My philosophy for this stuff is you don't need to necessarily be good at the material in these classes, you just can't be worse than average. That's what keeps me going.
