Thunderstorms are dumb and smelly and ugly and I don't like them

I don't understand this (I'm not judging) and I've always asked people what they hate about storms and not gotten very good answers. My one best friend has misophonia so for her the type of noise that comes with a downpour is awful for her, but for most other people I've always wanted to know why thunderstorms upset them and most people say "they just do" :< I always celebrate when we have one here, but most people report they have one while being upset.

Well, one Jim Sterling has brought to our eyes a game that looks super cool and fun and tickles me because of how much I dislike the lazy indie "retro" art style (while acknowledging that putting actual effort into 2D graphics is hard, which it should be) and now I might have to bug raocow to play a game about owls in a year when it comes out and there's another Patreon vote.

My best guess would be that humans in nature would learn storm=cold+wet+potential for getting hit by lightning, which are generally all bad things if you don't have raincoats and warm clothes or heated houses. And a suit made of silver wire with rubber underneath.

My backpack got soaked, papers got wet, was worried my new netbook was damaged (it wasn't). I really need to stock up on non-perishables so I don't have to risk leaving the dorm to get dinner when storm clouds are approaching.

I personally love storms. Really relaxing, so long as you don't get caught outside in them.

Storms are the best thing.
I love the sound of rain.
The smell is amazing and fresh.
The only time it sucks is when a loud crack of thunder lands in your backyard with the window open and causes a power outage at the same time, making you scream in surprise (true story).

i'd suggest at least the first Sly Cooper
kingdom hearts seems like a good pick, too, if you think you'll have a good chunk of time at some point for the late game bosses
because if you don't want to level grind for them, they're super fun but take forever

Dark Cloud. Had a demo of it, looked fun.
God of War 1 + 2, for when you feel the need for action.
Ditto for Devil May Cry 1-3 (not sure on 2)
Twisted Metal: Black, for pretty much the same reason + could be fun with multiplayer too?
All the JRPGs, 'cause you sometimes have time to kill, right?
Especially the Shin Megami Tensei ones. They're full of ideas!

Twisted Metal and like Carmarmageddon and I think one other game/series I forget? Those were the shit when they came out. I don't know why necessarily I found them extremely fun. It was wholly the gameplay and in no way the aesthetic, but man they were just, super awesome funcool. And I never owned a PlayStation so my time with them was uncommon :(

There's some spitballing going around over on tasvideos about a JUMP TAS and I know there are some quirks of SMW that have been... tweaked for JUMP.
