In context with the specific levels some do sound slightly eerie but yeah, I don't think any Doom songs are at all scary. Doesn't make them any less decent though. I can't think of any Doom or Doom II track I'd consider bad personally.

Tension-building would probably be the best description. Countdown to Death, for example, has a melody that moves up and down in semitones, which is an easy way to get tension going, and gets transposed completely by a semitone, which is another way to do it. It basically ticks all the boxes of how to make tension in a song. I really like Countdown to Death in case you couldn't tell.

That's actually a far better way to describe it than I was doing. And Countdown to Death is good. Not my favorite personally but far from the bottom of my list either. Nobody Told Me About Id is my personal favorite.

OMG we got our first measurable snow here too (nearly 24 hours ago)
Well, by "measurable" I mean a dusting

Also, the Farmer's Almanac and one of my local news stations is predicting a much worse winter than normal for us, similar to last year. This makes me a little excited because I missed 8 days of school due to either feet of snow or -40°F temps last winter.

Then there was this other report (I can't seem to remember who conducted it) that said we would have a calm and pleasant winter. But it's 2:1 favoring a harsh winter so I'm still hopeful.

And I know I'll just have to make up any missed days in the summer, but I look at it this way: My hopes can't affect the actual outcome.

Both the lack of skeleton and the snake sound potentially fatal. Are you okay? Do you need help?

I would really like to know why one of my hard drives sporadically makes such loud noises. It only happens every once in awhile but it tends to make a fairly loud buzzing or an even louder ticking sound but there's apparently nothing wrong with the drive according to Hard Disk Sentinel and SeaTools. It doesn't do this often either but when it does it usually does it for a day or two then it quits again.

Well that was hilarious in hindsight. I rebooted my computer to see if that would quiet my hard drive down and stop Firefox from lagging since I left my computer on overnight backing up important files to my external drive. It stopped the drive from making such a racket but I forgot to unplug my external and apparently my bios has usb set to a higher boot priority than my os and rather than not finding anything to boot from and moving on to the next thing on the list, it just kept hanging at a black screen. At first I thought maybe my drive really had died until I realized that my external was still hooked up. Nothing like sitting here for ten minutes wondering what went wrong, lol.
