Re: Twitter Thread
Got a contact request on Skype from someone whose username and avatar are completely foreign to me.
Running through my social groups to see if anyone knows who this is before completely saying no.

What the crap man, if I'd known you were streaming I'd have put in a plug for your stream in my stream.Ashan wrote:Gonna try speedrunning SMW, I have no idea what I've doing and haven't watched a speedrun of it before so this should be good

There's a reason the 'sweet spot' for non-partners is 720p, 30fps, 2000kbps. Maximizes your potential viewerbase while still maintaining a good quality stream.
Don't worry. I got lost in the 'MUST RUN 1080P!' fallacy when I first started streaming, too. :)
Just remember. No one will come to your stream for crystal-clear 1080p video. But people will absolutely leave if they get stuck in buffering hell because you're running too high a bitrate.
tl;dr: If you're broadcasting on Twitch and you're not a partner or a de facto partner, please don't stream in 1080p 60 fps; it makes it nigh unwatchable for the purpose of building a base of regulars.

Have you asked the person for a second name yet? I had the same problem once, so I questioned about that, and I got back something which made sense. No Lynch wrote:Got a contact request on Skype from someone whose username and avatar are completely foreign to me.

One of my twitter colleagues advised me that it was probably spam.
I took their advice.

Re: Twitter Thread
Is anyone here from Lisbon or nearby in Portugal?
I'll be at a conference at the New University of Lisbon from Friday 17th until Tuesday 21st, and I'm wondering what might be recommended as the best places to visit, what places are expensive tourist traps that should be avoided - things like that. Any tips on how to have a good time in the city (on a tiny budget with fairly limited time) would be pretty neat! :D
(I've been looking through websites for good locations, but someone who has been to the city/lives there will always know best!)

Why is it when I say something heartfelt and sincere, no one notices?

perhaps they don't know what the best way to respond would be, which is why they simply don't seem to notice rather than risk ruining the moment or hurting someone or w/e like that's the case with me at least

It's really stormy outside right now. I had to save my laundry from flying off. Weather, pls...

You know, I've always wondered something. Since Pluto's orbit does cross Neptune's at four different points and they take different amounts of time to complete their orbits, does this mean that eventually at some point in the future Pluto is going to smash into Neptune? I've never even come across someone entertaining the idea before but I've always been really curious about that.arabsalmon wrote:To be more specific, because of the shape of Pluto's orbit, there are periods of time where it is closer to the Sun than Neptune. Also, it sometimes shares its orbit with some other bits and bobs, so it doesn't "clear the neighbourhood", which is why it's called a dwarf planet.

Aw, I'm actually slightly disappointed.devil zukin wrote:na it orbits on a different plane
Re: Twitter Thread
if they ever happened to both be at the intersection of their orbit, Pluto would be quite some distance above Neptune, so they'd slip right past each other.devil zukin wrote:na it orbits on a different planeAlice wrote:does this mean that eventually at some point in the future Pluto is going to smash into Neptune? because the word "above" is relevant in space

Ah that's okay! It's really nice here, and I had no idea the city had a huge metro system. Also, it's the hilliest city I've ever seen, it's like someone decided to build on giant bubble wrap. I find Irish summers too hot, so you can only imagine how I feel hereKobaBeach wrote: I'm from all the way down in Algarve, sorry

Good game.
Now surely I'm not the only one in the haus who loves fighting games, am I?
I might just have to pick this one up myself.

I couldn't go to FNM tonight because I didn't want to play the same deck I've played the last 23444 times but I don't want to buy a new one because I had cat vet bills already this month, plus I bought SSB3DS
