The problem it mostly poses for me is that I'm from the UK and most of the people I encounter are from the US, causing me to essentially be nocturnal.

I personally have no problem with it, but apparently it's really bad.
If Mario has taught me anything, it's that most things rely on whether there's something good in a nearby box.

I'm honestly really scared of changing. ._.
Don't be. I speak from experience when I say that if everything goes well you won't change all that much. Your personality and tastes will be pretty much the same. You'll just be a happy, content version of yourself, and that's the best version you can be.

Regarding online friendship: Can't really say anthing about it, because I don't have any online friends? I don't see what the problem is, though, apart from the unhealthy sleep cycle.
There is a physical aspect to friendship. I fucking love hugs, for example. I wouldn't say, however, that that aspect is absolutely necessary for an amazing friendship.
You're awesome.

This is very much a really subjective thing and just depends on who you talk to. Some people view it as the end of the absolute world that somebody is social in a long distance way rather than short distance physically.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as you're still communicating with people on a fairly regular basis you won't fall into any kind of dysfunction as the fears of others would speak of. And indeed it's mostly the technologically illiterate fearing the march of technology.
metasomnia wrote:This is a dumb, stupid question but it's been burning in the forefront of my mind for the last five minutes: Do all or most talkhausers have distinctive verbal or typing tics?

I'm not sure where this came from
A few typing tics of my own:
Pree, verr, heckie, y'all, putting ~ at the end of sentences, git, putting "like" way too often.

Off the top of my head those I come up with first. I also wouldn't consider it a stupid question, it's a fun question.

The person who said that to me is the GP I saw earlier.

Like, if I could just find a way to continue with not leaving the house much and being nocturnal, that'd be absolutely perfect.

But nooooooo that's impossible!

Graveyard shift jobs or working from home would be the way to go for being nocturnal about things, plenty of people live as nightcrawlers. (Though it's not ideal, with construction generally occuring in the day and many places closing during the night, although more and more stores and restaurants I'm noticing are staying open longer with employees doing the nightcrawler thing)

Working from home is something I want to do, but I don't know where to look.

...I apologise that a lot of posts I've seemingly been making lately are in the realm of "aaaa work"

Oh about verbal tics...

I tend to write "or something", "kinda" and "you know" a lot.

Popularity contests aren't worth winning anyway, come and be my drinking buddy Maiku and we'll sulk in our not-vote-winning glory.

(Except Talkhaus Mosts, those are worth winning and striving for 8-) )
