Wait what? Pressing the start button will bring you to the screen you see when you start up the computer? As in the "Starting Windows" screen, or the "Select User" screen?Ashanmaril wrote:Oh, and update on the start button being brought back: It won't actually open the start menu. It will just take you to the start screen so basically I retract everything I said about Microsoft doing the right thing.

Yeah, it's basically going to do the equivalent of what hitting the Windows key on the keyboard does now.Mochtroidprime wrote:Wait what? So basically we've made no progress.

You're on W7 then.
On W8 it takes you to the start screen (not to be confused with W7's more practical/convenient start menu).

Re: Twitter: The Thread
Does W8 have support for animated gifs in the default picture viewer again?
I never understood why that went away. W7 is super nice though and probably my favourite OS

Nope. It still opens up IE by default for those. Because apparently Microsoft doesn't know that gifs exist.

About time they are, too. Now, only the domains problem remains.
Anyway, who voted today, and who did more interesting things than that?
E: Oh, right, I need to change my sig.

With the space-time rewind (actually the backup talkhaus), it's... kinda creepy with the place not a populated as usual with the regulars. The first day was just only populated with raocow and the A2MBXT guys in the IRC.
It might be the lack of interaction between peeps that's causing this feeling.

My Nexus 5 is supposed to be here today but it's 4:40pm and UPS still hasn't shown up.
They should hurry up.

World History is pretty cool. I still like US better, but you can probably expect an avatar of some random emperor sometime.

I was wondering if the Talkhaus was ever gonna come back. Hard to believe it's almost been a month without it.
It's good to have it back though. It felt weird without it.

Re: Twitter: The Thread
I fixed some hardware issues with my laptop today, and it actually had a very simple solution.
I'm pretty proud of myself.
I also got to work at a soap factory like a few days ago, it was really neat and it smelled nice. I love seeing how assembly lines work in factories. Though I might be allergic to one of the compounds over there since I started wheezing a bit at one point, it was that or dust.

I went to get an LTE SIM card from Jump.ca today and they ended up charging me $10 for the SIM card and $20 for some BS "activation fee" and I talked to my friend later that works at Jump.ca and he said upgrading me to an LTE SIM card should have been free so that was really cool of them to rob me of $30.

Re: Twitter: The Thread
So today in Chemistry class, a girl's ears started bleeding, and she asked the teacher if she could go to the office to call her mom.
And the teacher said no.
Does anyone know if there's like, a legal term for this? I honestly want to try and do something about this teacher, because she is horrendous at her job. And she just broke the law.

Re: Twitter: The Thread
You could talk to the administrative office of the school about it. I guess it's neglect of the student's health? The student should have been escorted to a health office of some kind.
