I put together a playlist of the soft songs from Madoka since one didn't seem to exist already
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... re=mh_lolz

And people are of course free to use it if they're like me and completely dig the music from Madoka~

I've been going through a Yes phase again as of late, and I have to say that this performance of Starship Trooper is the bomb-diggedy. After DECADES of playing, they've still got the magic! Steve Howe and Jon Anderson were especially exceptional this time around.

I have two "my jams" currently.

One is this song (Warning for headphone fellas, loud and bassy~) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrEZOpHZYGc So killer.

And the other is the Southern Island theme from the Sonic OVA http://bwarch.tumblr.com/post/86137791228 I don't understand why I like this so much it's practically just a VERY simple horn melody with a beat. But it's just so much FUN.

Oh, I forgot to mention: I also like the Gorillaz.

Y'know, Homemade Kazoku Songs are "feel-good songs"... But Gorillaz Songs are more... depressed?

Anyway, do you know that feeling:

You heard a song, like 10 years ago... and then, you recognize them a bit if you hear 'em in the radio? I had that feeling today, 2 times that is: All the Things she said by tatu and One More Time by Daft Punk... One More Time used to be my favourite song when I was 3 years old... good ol' times.

I dunno if "depressed," is the right word for most Gorillaz stuff. It depends on the song, definitely, but most of what I'm familiar with is just kind of chill, if that makes sense. Low tempo, calmer songs.

Mega Man Soccer's Theme. They used this for the Japanese commercial. I think you should listen to the first minute. Wasn't expecting to hear something like that.

I like all of the punk subgenres. Even proper pop punk. To clarify, there's actual pop punk, like Social Distortion and Rancid, and then there's pop rock that claims to be pop punk, like Blink182, Greenday and Billy Talent. All are respectable artists (though I personally despise their sound), but alot of them are just not punk.

It all starts with Sex Pistols, Clash and Ramones. Some of my early favorites are Wipers, Zounds and Circle Jerks.

Then there's the hardcores, like Bad Brains, Black Flag and Minor Threat. I qualify as straight edge, but the movement and all that sillyness is just...silly (Here's a song that explains it really well).

Also Adolescents, Germs and Reagan Youth are really sweet.

Hardcore punk goes all sorts of weiiiird places. Dayglo Abortions is just freaking hilarious more than anything.

Dead Kennedys is the wittiest band I've ever heard. And Jello Biafra with all of his cooperations is all grade A stuff (also NoMeansNo in particular has alot of brilliance).

Victim's Family goes waaay multigenre (no one uploaded the full album for whatever reason).

Agent Orange does surf better than any other.

Ramshackle Glory Is a large folk punk group with vocals by Pat the Bunny, the most beautiful person in the world.

Andrew Jackson Jihad is some more amazing folk punk.

Kind of necro-ing, but whatevs?

I'm sure a bunch of you guys (mainly Tumblr peeps from what I'm aware,) probably saw this music video already, but if you're like me (not a Tumblr-er,) maybe you haven't. A friend linked this to me a couple of hours ago, and I've listened to it a LOT already. Probably buying their album, because I like supporting artists.

That song is pretty good!

Too bad I have no money to buy their album. Like always...

This seems like my kind of thread yesss

I guess here's a list of music I've been compiling for a while:

I'm pretty sure a lot of it is either stuff from Mighty Switch Force or Kirby games.

They both have work that is definitely worth checking out and they do such amazing things with music.

I'm currently entering a Kanye phase I guess, I mean, it would be an overstatement to say that The College Dropout is on repeat, but if you extend that to some songs being stuck in my head -- mostly We Don't Care, some Jesus Walks, and also Never Let Me Down -- I guess it wouldn't be an overstatement anymore.

Before that, I was temporarily obsessed with the Danish String Quartet's great record Wood Works which I discovered via NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series.

(While were are on the topic of NPR's TDCs, there was a noteworthy entry by T-Pain, completely w/o autotune, but w/ a pretty hype keyboarder with dope chord voicings)

Rediscovered this brilliant band. Very powerful, lyrically and instrumentally.

Oh yeah thanks for bringing me back Bartle https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cnYvMC ... B68B65B620

David Bowie released a new 50-year retrospective of his career and he's celebrated with a new, very jazzy, film-noir like song and video.

I have yet to find a music streaming service that lets me listen to at least a playlist online without subscribing to their damn subscribtions.

I just listen to music on a few occasions, so paying 10 euros for a few hours per month is a bit too much, and besides, given my financial conditions (0 pocket money per week/month/year, just about 130 euros per birthday) that wouldn't be worth spending.

Soundcloud, Youtube, Pandora...

Spotify I think but not sure about that one since I don't use it and you shouldn't either.

Soundcloud: Haven't tried that one yet, thanks for te recommendation.

Youtube: If you know what the GEMA is then you understand. If you don't know the GEMA, look 'em up, though I am not sure if there are any english explanations.

Pandora: Hm, never heard of that one, I'll give it a try.

And Spotify: You can listen to albums and playlists, however, only in Random-Song mode and with a few... "recommendations" mixed in. Which you can't even skip.

Stick to indie musicians.
