Comcast
I have news that is messed up for every one! Comcast (What I happen to have as my internet provider right now) has decided to go from ∞GB and drop to 3GB for the home which means everyone who uses Comcast has little to no internet. It is something new they are trying this month and I hope they stop. So if someone has Comcast, they will not be available this month that often. In my case, I can not upload any videos or the like! I will be using my internet only for levels for a few contests.
What do you think about this?

Re: Comcast
I've been having a lot of issues with my internet lately and this is no exception. I really wish I had control over our ISP, but we already use Comcast for most other services around the house, and I'm not my parents. I can still upload and stream videos, just very slowly

Re: Comcast
To help clarify: Comcast is setting their bandwidth cap on thier basic plan to 300GB , with an extra 30 dollars charge if you go over that. They also have a "light Use" 5GB plan thats a whole 5 dollars less (wow what a bargain)
As time goes on and more people switch to watching online video they will eventually get fed up with this bullshit (and if people start trying to stream 4k video in a few years these limits wont be tolerated for long) but as it is , there's not much that can be done about it.

Re: Comcast
oh OK, 300 is slightly more reasonable
i use about 200 per month all by myself so with my family that would be pretty fucked. fortunately we aren't using comcast

Wow, what a terribly written FAQ, to the point where it feels deliberately confusing and deceptive; none of the teir prices outside of the unlimited data plan are listed.

Re: Comcast
Yeah, I know. It would be helpful to know that! they did not even give that! they just said that unlimited is 30-35 dollars more expensive then the 300GB plan!Tenlade wrote:Wow, what a terribly written FAQ, to the point where it feels deliberately confusing and deceptive; none of the teir prices outside of the unlimited data plan are listed.

Re: Comcast
It's an unfortunate thing in many parts of the States. If you're stuck with only having Comcast/Time Warner, Verizon, or Cox as your choice of ISP, they will nickel and dime the shit out of you because they know there's no competition out there. Even more unfortunate is that those companies purposely won't go into each other's territories if at all possible. Google Fiber is making a few waves, but it may be some time before it reaches many many places. I'm fortunate enough to be in a place with multiple ISPs that provide high-speed internet, that and google has set up shop in many parts of Austin.
Re: Comcast
We're oh-so-close to fiber where I live in MN. Like literally the border stops a few blocks from my house. Fingers crossed that they'll expand though so I can be rid of cruddy Comcast ( ´_ゝ`).
