No idea.
It could be one of those versions of breakout that I never remember the name of ever again and I feel sad about because it was really funny. But I doubt that since I played it at my grandparents house and I wouldn't play a game there if it was my first game.
I used to watch my father play the good old adventure games back in the days, but I wasn't playing it myself so that doesn't count either..
Oh what the hell, let's just say it was minesweeper or patience.

Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Either Super Mario Bros. on the NES or Sonic the Hedgehog on the Master System.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Either Super Mario Bros. or Duck Hunt since they were on the same cartridge. Don't remember which.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Probably something out of SMB1,2,3, Duck Hunt or Zelda 1. I was also 3 at the time so there's no way I would remember exactly.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
I think it was Super Mario Land 2 over at a friends place... (I was about 5/6 years old)
That or Pokemon Yellow.

Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Wolfenstein 3D on DOS.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Monster Party for the NES.
In retrospect, this probably explains a lot.

Then we got a S.N.E.S....and I would spend hours upon hours play A Link To The Past...

... M.C. Kids... the McDonalds game for the NES. Haters gonna hate, but it was a pretty decent game for what it was. haha.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
some gameboy game. I have no idea which one.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
I'm pretty sure my first game was SML2: 6 Golden Coins. I remember being so blown away by the concept of being able to control a person on that little GBC screen, heh. Good times.
...And I just got the final level theme stuck in my head. That says something, I guess, but...

I think it was something for the Turbo-Grafx 16. Probably Bonk's Adventure, Keith Courage in Alpha Zones, or Splatterhouse. If it wasn't that, it was either SMW or MK3 for the SNES.
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
Either oracle of seasons or donkey kong country. my first system was one of these babies:
Re: The very first game you've ever played...
It was either Swordquest Earth or Pong. It was quite some time ago, obviously.

Not the first game, but the first one that really sticks out was the DOS game Sam & Max Hit the Road.
Just played it again recently, and it lived up to every bit of nostalgia I had for it. The jokes were so quick and flowed so well, I often forgot it was written out by a team of people beforehand. It's the sort of dry wit that makes me wish I knew someone that smart in real life, but so much funny in one person would break the world.

Steve Purcell is responsible for the Sam & Max comics the game is based on, and they ARE written by one person, and they ARE that damn funny.
Anyway, first game I played was something on the Atari 2600. Possibly good ol' Pacman, possibly Tank! maybe? God I'm old.

The nature of the signature is significant and natural.

Super Mario Brothers, NES and all. Then I played Super Mario World. Then Mario RPG!
By 4 I was onto Mario RPG because I could read at a 6th grade level. I was pro from birth.
...And then I played this game... Drakkhen
God help me.

Re: The very first game you've ever played...
After thinking about it, maybe my first game was Paperboy on my dads old BBC. I don't know which version of it or whatever, but it had a green screen and throwing the papers in the windows was hilarous. But that is hilarous in all versions of this game.
I never managed to get across that road. How was I supposed to know there was a break button! I was 2 or 3 years old!!
