Exactly this kind of Gameboy Color was the first console I had as well.
Oracle of Seasons was the first game I bought for it.
And I frequently borrowed Donkey Kong Country from a friend who had a GB as well.

Whatever it was.
Are we talking the Super Scope, that awful thing? If so then probably Battle Clash, the mecha one?
The nature of the signature is significant and natural.

I *think* it was Duck Hunt/Super Mario Bros. One or the other, though I do remember playing with the gun. I was only a little kid though, so it's possible I'm remembering things wrong.

The going story in my family is that I learned to read at 2 1/2 years old so I could pick the right diskette to play Lemmings. Years later I got an NES with the SMB series on it, as well as Batman and X-Men.

I never thought I would start playing video games, I was a kid that resented EVERY trend just to be different.

Then my dad got me a SNES with Yoshi's Island. Yeaaaaah...

The very first game I played was either Pokemon Yellow or Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue. My dad got them for me and my brother at the same time and I can't remember which one I played first. Oh well.

I think the first game I played was Sonic Advance for the GBA. I can't completely remember, though, it was a long time ago.

Man, everyone grew up with game consoles when I had a pc...
I never got to experience Mario or Sonic in the day, kinda sad, tbh I never could do any of my DOS platformer games anyways. though some of these games had terrible jump physics and such in hindsight.

That actually makes me wonder. If you haven't played a game before, how do you end up having a game console as your very first gaming platform? After all you didn't know you'd like gaming at that point.

I can think of these reasons:
-Older brother/sister or parents who already have this console and you can play once.
-You started gaming really early (80s) where the Atari was more superior and simper than the pc.

But a pc is a lot easier to start gaming on as, at least from the mid- to end nineties, most households have a pc and simply put; that saves money.

Kilon, my answer to that is that my dad had a Sega Master System and my sister had a NES. I started playing games when I was two. We got a PC for Christmas in 1995, when I was three.

The first game I played was probably one of the Army Man PC games where you play as plastic soldiers. I loved these.

All my friends had game consoles, and that was pretty much because nearly all my friends parents where divorced, meaning they all got expensive presents from there parents such as game consoles.

I on the other hand had an abnormally normal family, so I had to settle for a PC.

I think it was some Asteroids-like game... hardly remember it, so I can't really tell the name or console or so... other than that Tetris and Super Mario Land for the good old orginal Gameboy should be the ones I think... alongside Dr.Mario maybe...
What's the worst part of the internet? Maybe it's people who believe "being funny" equals disrespect, stupidity and plain ignorance.

I think that the first game I ever play was Super Mario World actually. That's probably why it's still my favorite game to this day (And that I joined this forum. XD). If it wasn't SMW then it was something for the SNES. It was the first console I ever owned, so it was something for that.

I remember it quite clearly... It was at a friend's house... I played Contra 3 and Super Mario Bros All Stars. And then, not too terribly long after that, I got Donkey Kong Country and the SNES as a gift, making that the first one I owned.

I think it was the original Super Mario Bros...? I'm not 100% sure. That's the first game I remember playing, when I was about 3 years old. Other early memories: Double Dragon, TMNT 2. Any of those three could possibly be the first, but I think it was SMB.

The fist games I played were Pokemon Red, AND Blue.
I got both of them at the same time when i was a kid, but i always preferred blue over red.
Charizard is too over rated, Blastoise FTW. 8-)

Hell yeah! Pokemon Blue for life!

I had all three first gen games as a kid, and all three second gen games for that matter... I was soooo into Pokemon. I still love it, to be honest, although obviously it's not as intense as it was back then. I remember when Pokemon practically took over the world. Ahhh, good times, good times....
