Phobophobia

Post by Dizzybelle »

So Talkhaus...
What are you afraid of?
What sends shivers of terror down your spine?
What keeps you awake at night, lurking in the shadows?

Now, lets set things straight, this isn't "Oh you're afraid of X? Here's 200 pictures of X!"
It's just for sharing little tidbits.
The more out there and weird the fear, the better.

I for one, am scared of flying insects, human interaction and fursuits.

PHOBOPHOBIA. THE FEAR. OF FEAR ITSELF.

My only irrational fear is the fear of vomiting. I'm fine with others doing it, but i just really don't like doing it myself

I don't really like darkness.

But slowly I try to get used to it by not using a little plug-in light when I go to sleep.

It produces minor light and makes me feel a little bt confortable.

Spiders, specifically hairy ones.
And it just so happens that the featured video on Youtube front page is a dog dressed as a mutant giant spider. Joy.

Same. My biggest fear up until late. I required some blood tests, and with getting those done, have slowly gotten better with my phobia. Now blood tests only give me some anxiety rather than a full blown panic attack, hooray!

I also have minor fears of wasps and heights.

Sorry, nothing really weird for me. My roommate has a phobia of sharks in any sort of body of water, including the deep ends of pools, so I guess that could be classified as 'weird.'

I have a fear of heights, but that's pretty humdrum and common.
I also have a fear of large-ish bodies of water, which isn't so good when you live near-ish the sea, on an island, out in the Pacific. (granted it's one of the larger islands but still)
I also also have quite a dislike of physical contact, which is sort of on the boundary between being a fear and being just general discomfort.

the prospect of certain injuries, especially eye injuries. im pretty worried about losing an eye for some reason. i really really hope thats not foreshadowing.

also sometimes ill get strange irrational fears around the house that i wouldnt feel on most days. the other day i could swear there was something behind me whenever i went out to take a walk on the road and it really freaked me out. never happened before or since.
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

I also have a fear of skeletons.

I don't really know why but that's not really that much of a hinderance.

Large. Flying. Insects. *shudder*

Also, internal organs gross me out something crazy.

I'm usually fine with internal organs. It's when they're no longer internal that's the problem.

I have these, a fear of driving, and a mild arachniphobia, though only with certain types of spiders. I also feel uneasy around certain dogs, mainly ones that bark a lot.

That... but also any time in TV/movies/video games when someone ends up inside a living being's body. Blegh.

Small spiders I can handle, but the big hairy tarantulas that can eat birds... brrrrr, those things deserve handguns.

I knew someone would misinterpret that...

I meant that those large spiders deserve to be shot. You must agree with me on that, right?
