ALS Ice bucket challenge thread!

Since this thing seems to really be going around it seems like it would be a good way to get people to show their faces here in a funny way. :D

So go and post your ice bucket challenge videos and nominate three people to do it next (separately to nominating people irl). The only difference being that it's more ok to refuse the challenge if you don't want to show your face. Also PM the people you are nominating to make sure they know.

Also don't forget to donate to ALS/MND when you make your video or if you don't want to make it.

Here is mine; which is 15 minutes of my lying under a sprinkler (because screw making it easy xD).

Also my ice bucket challenge isn't typical of what you do. You're supposed to have a bucket of icy water dumped on your head.

I believe the rules, such as they are, state that you're allowed to refuse the challenge if you just donate the money instead. Although if you take the challenge without donating anyway, then you're missing the point and just doing it for the attention.

Question: since when was this tied to a particular charity? When the challenge was sweeping through here it was "donate to a charity", not "donate to this charity".

Really? All I've seen of it has been about donating to that charity. I'm pretty sure they're the ones that launched the campaign. Also feel free to put up a video without being nominated. The fact that so many more people are going to refuse means that people are probably going to need to do that to stop this thread dying.

With things like talkhaus sings and that weird fan fiction thing; you'd expect that this would be a pretty good forum for this kind of stuff.

In fact iirc when I first became aware of the challenge (about one-and-a-half months ago) the focus was mostly on getting ice water dumped on you, and the donating-to-charity bit was more like a punishment for not doing the challenge. Also iirc most donations here went to the Cancer Society, but not necessarily (it really depended who you talked to/were nominated by).

Also also I remember the tv news going "IS THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE BAD FOR YOU? IDK BUT IT'S ON SOCIAL MEDIA SO LET'S COMPARE IT TO A DRINKING GAME"
