My bracket has Angels over Pirates. Probably not likely, but I figured if I'm going make a bracket out, may as well try to be a bit different than the rest.

Bah. That's not nearly ambitious enough. My pick is the Montreal Expos over the Washington Senators in six games!

That was a pretty amazing game between the Royals and the As. Nice job by the Royals in tying the game multiple times throughout then walking off in the end.

Actually while I'm at it, why the heck does TBS own any rights to postseason baseball? Can anyone tell me?

To quote raocow... Oh my Jesus Hell God. I last looked at the score in the 8th inning, when the A's had a 7-3 lead, and... just kinda figured they'd win it, due to their near-infallible pitching. I *really* wanted to see the Royals get into the postseason proper, and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this post.

For years, the Royals and Pirates have been go-to punchlines between me and my mother whenever we needed to cite an example of a bad team. Now there's a non-zero chance of a Royals/Pirates *World Series*. That's just awesome, really.

So far, I'm really good at picking who is going to win what so far... Nope.

Sorry Yelsey doesn't look like the Pirates/Royals WS will be a thing this year.

On another note as always the Cards will probably be the underdog in every series they play this postseason.... like they normally are.

A team that makes the postseason as often as they do... hard to consider them the "underdogs" at this point. I think they've missed the postseason... what, twice, maybe three times, since 2000?

2003, 2007, 2008, and 2010... and they were only sub .500 in one of those years. I'd consider them underdogs to the Dodgers because of home field and the salary difference between the two, but there's a reason the Cards keep making the postseason and going deep. They just find ways to win.

That said, the Giants are usually good at shutting them down in recent memory, so if you're not a Cardinal fan, you should be rooting for San Fransisco if the Cards can get past the Dodgers.

Personally I'd like to see Detroit play against Washington in the Series, but if the Tigers' performance tonight was any indication I doubt that'll come to pass.

I wonder if "dramatic extra inning victories" will be a theme for the Royals this postseason. Second game in a row that have gone into extras, and they've won both.

I haven't been paying much attention to Kansas City, but the way things are looking for Detroit, I might end up watching the Royals after all. It seems to me that they have a better chance of reaching the ALCS than the Tigers do.

C'mon, Detroit, you're tougher than this! :x

Kershaw and Wainwright are the two best pitchers in the NL. Of course the game somehow wound up being 10-9, good guys.

Kershaw has trouble beating the cards, we hit him for 7+ Earned Runs his last two postseason starts.

Two things:
1. I don't know why but I like it when espn predicts wrong.
2. Rosenthal is as nerve racking a closer as ever.

Continuing onward the Royals - Angels game 2 is also looking to be heading towards extras, if the Royals get through the bottom of the 9th. Be interesting how many games the Royals take into extras.

Edit: Holy cow they are up 3-1 in extras. Will they pull it off a third time in a row?

Edit 2: So after two days it's Missouri 3, LA 0.

...a-yup. It continues.

Also, screw the Cardinals and their Rubber Band AI. I swear.

Darn it Cardinals... you were suppose to win so I could say that so far the home team is 0-8, but alas you guys ruined it so it's 1-7 instead...

Actually, the Orioles won both games at home. So the home teams are 3-5, not 1-7.

Can't really blame you. It seems a lot of people see the Orioles as the underdog despite having the better record.

I ain't rooting for this particular underdog, I can tell you that. Not after the shellacking they just dealt to the Tigers.

Um... go, Royals?

It's looking more and more like we'll have "Status Quo" in the NLCS, and "wtf" in the ALCS.

If "Status Quo" is teams that have been normally making the LCS, then yes.

American League games went by fast, 3 and done.
I think the Cards and Giants will win 1 of the remaining 2, but you never know.

If the Cards lose tomorrow, the advantage goes right back to the Dodgers, and the Cards have been quite good at losing games you'd think they would win this season. Still, I'd rather they close it out tonight than do yet another full-length NLDS. It'd be the fourth straight year of having to play in a decisive Game 5 if they don't.
