Fortunately, the Cubs have Jon Lester going for them tomorrow, and he's pretty much been their best pitcher (and given their stellar rotation, that's saying something), so we can hope he'll send the Cubs home with the lead, rather than trailing.

And the Cubs have blown it opened, 8-1, thanks to a bases-clearing double by Javier Baez. Man, that kid has had big hit after big hit for the Cubs *all* season long, and the postseason is *no* exception. Cubs better hang out to him, because he keeps this up, and he's gonna be a force in that lineup for years.

I have to care more for my health at this point. I had a fractured tooth that was worked on, and cold liquids, air, and stress agitate it. It's getting better, but no, I've kind of had a distant eye on things for the most part in this series to avoid that stress part. It's fun to wake up to these scores, though.

Kershaw in game 6. And the suddenly inexplicably unhittable Rich Hill is almost guaranteed for game 7. Along with Jansen for a couple innings, followed by Kershaw again to get the save.

Please prove me wrong, Cubs.

Edit 3 - A 30 pitch first. Cubs leave one runner on third.

If my calculations are correct, the Cubs have scored infinite x2 runs more against Kershaw after four batters than they did in the entire game 2. Hey, make the guy work; force him out early and then beat up their bullpen.

I have this huge smile on my face right now. I've been watching sports since 1989, and my two favorite teams (Blues and Cubs) have never made it to the finals in their respective leagues. Twelve more outs, and it will finally happen.

Edit: Haw. Kershaw's out after only five innings. Granted, his replacement is no slouch, either. But that amuses me.
