It's looking good for Arizona to make the Wild Card game at the very least now. Colorado's kind of slipping, but nobody wants to catch them. I thought Miami was on the move, but Washington stopped them a bit.

Getting your wish. Ever since that awful non-strike call that got Lackey and Contreras ejected, the Cubs have outscored the Cards 11-1. With the Rockies winning, too, that's putting the Cards on the brink.

And the Cubs indeed sweep the Cardinals. They're not *mathematically* eliminated, but with the small number of remaining games, their odds of making either the division or the wild card seem very, very slim. Not that they haven't overcome odds like these before, mind, but yeah.

Cubs took six of seven from the Cards the last couple series to completely crush their playoff hopes. That was something else.
