uh
3/4 of the way through Digimon Adventure (english version yo)
wooooo digimon
I didn't watch the FULL first season as a kid, and I don't think I made it too far into Adventure 02 either, so I'm kinda... both getting that nostalgia stuff and experiencing new things too - if I ever actually pick up the pace on watching it, I intend to go through as much of the series as possible (hopefully through Digimon Tamers at least, I think it 'intrigues' me the most).
But I'm not really much of an animu besides that, I guess >_>

I've waited years for Shovel Knight, Owlboy and The Last Guardian, what's one more thing on the pile at the end of the day?

Don't worry it also took me a year to get through Adventure and Adventure 02swirlybomb wrote:hope you're ready to wait AN ENTIRE YEAR to hear said thoughts, at this rate
Don't keep your hopes up for Adventure 02 btw
Tamers has a slow start, but it gets really, really good once the plot starts to develop (around when the Deva show up). The writer (Chiaki J. Konaka) also worked on Serial Experiments Lain, Texhnolyze, The Big O...
From what I recall of Frontier, it's pretty average, not exactly bad, but kinda meh.
I haven't really watched Savers as of now, but quite a lot of people seem to like it (it helps that the main character punches Digimon in the face to get his partner to digivolve).
I only watched a bit of Xros Wars, but it's pretty great so far!!!!
I haven't watched The Young Hunters Who Leapt Through Time yet, but people say that it's pretty bad. The second-to-last episode does seem pretty freaking awesome!!! I won't say what's in it though, that'd be spoiling it~ ;3

THE INITIAL FINNISH DUB OF DIGIMON ADVENTURE!!!!! THE HORROR THE HORROR
Featuring voice acting so sedate, you'd think they were recorded in a library or something, with special appearance by Devimon sounding like a grandpa.
Thank god they got better voices later and then changed to the original japanese voices entirely.
Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.

Oh yeah I heard about that monstrosity
Look at all that excitement just popping out of the screen while Angemon was kicking Devimon's ass
LOOK AT IT
The first European Portuguese dub of Digimon Adventure was pretty weird too (by Valentim de Carvalho). Tai sounded like Michael Jackson on helium, I swear to god.
I'm pretty sure yours is worse though, at least our dubbers tried to show some emotion, even if their voices were pretty shit.
P.S.
Should I start a Digimon thread?

Re: Talkhaus' Bizarre Adventure (anime/manga thread)
Only thing is I feel like we're already talking about everything that would need to be talked about, and a general thread for it would probably get one or two pages tops since there's nothing really to talk about. Nothing too spicy or new, y'see.

Pick a random number from 1 to 26.
Choose the letter corresponding to that number.
Pick a random anime starting with that letter.
Watch 3 or more episodes.
If you've already watched it, try again.
This thread shall never be un-spicy again
Edit: http://www.animeseason.com/anime-list/random/
Then use preferred watching method.
Wow I got A Channel, been considering this one.

The weirdest thing about it is that I actually liked it when it first came out. Looking back, I can only conclude that I was either a very tolerant or tasteless kid. Thank the lord they eventually came to their senses and replaced these guys shortly after Vamdemon showed up.KobaBeach wrote:Oh yeah I heard about that monstrosity

So, uh, what happens when you get second/third/etc. seasons? Watch that, start from the first season, or what?Snakebite969 wrote:Pick a random number from 1 to 26.

So I did the random anime thing and got Nodame Cantabile. Not really my cup of tea, but I guess that's what the randomization's for.
