post 2003 rpg maker is a very different beast to 2000/2003 but also if i need anything overly complex im okay with just using game maker. i can do custom battle systems on rm2k3 no prob it just takes ages (maybe even a semi-basic action rpg system, im aware of the limitations)

Konami has been consistently terrible for like a decade by now, but the Bomberman versions of characters from other games are the best things they put out these past few years. Reminds me of when Konami games had references to each other all the time, the good days. I still miss Hudson Soft because they were really experimental with Bomberman and ended up having a lot of cool ideas as a result (I mean, their other games didn't sell nearly as much, so they had to really put their one globally famous series to good use).

i've been trying to find out where the fuck the Crono Is Jesus guy has been for the past two decades and all i've found was a one piece fan who shares his name (xathael) and seems to be a zionist??? and falling down the alt-right pipeline from the way he kept making reddit threads about how unappealing he looks and how he's attracted to unpopular girls instead of getting a proper support system that isn't just reddit posters????

i dont think this fan is the same one as him because from what i can tell this person was born in 1992 which would make him roughly 8 years old when the chrono enigma site went up, and thus i dont think he'd actually have access to persona in order to shill persona 2, due to, again, being a kid and thus not being able to access weirder print media and sites on niche video games like gamefan and shit

Chrono Trigger is an excellent RPG, and its Biblical symbolism is nothing less than fasciating. Guess what? It's trash compared to the Persona series. Persona is undoubtedly the single most unique, well-made RPG in terms of originality, gameplay, plot, characters, and symbolism/foreshadowing ever brought to the States. Now, Persona 2 needs our help. Currently, Atlus is only planning on translating the second half of Persona 2 for us: the latter half, Eternal Punishment. The first half, Innocent Sin, may never reach the States. There is, however, the opprotunity for us to let Atlus know just how much we want a quality RPG to reach out shores. take note, i really like persona 1 and in his gamefaqs review, he said persona 1 has well developed characters and a deep plot and.

my guy i love smt but what the fuck are you talking about. even on psp with the improved translation it's pretty spartan and purposefully vague because the main draw is the journey of you as a player rather than the plot development.

After pondering on it for like a week or so, I finally gave in to my innermost desires (calling them impulses is overselling them, indecisiveness controls almost every decision I make), I ordered a Wii console, it comes with two remotes and two games, I also bought an SD card, HDMI adapter and a pro controller. I think it's all I need for now. I wanted a Wii so badly back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, it's basically the fulfillment of a past dream in way.

The homebrew scene in particular is what excited me the most, it's like Nintendo's Dreamcast in how it has an impressive community with servers for online games, ports of other games, mods, hacks, original games, emulators, revived versions of old services and a lot of other things, all made by fans. This is all just so cool.

When it eventually gets here and I set everything up, I'll keep this updated. This is so genuinely exciting, can't wait to be unable to shut up about it.

majuular made a saturn rpgs video but i want some testimonials that it isn't overly rude to the games (even if they're shit) before diving in. i should really make a list of rpgs that look neat to try out out of my catalog spreadsheet. not exactly a backlog since i'm not gonna be obsessed with beating them all before i die, just a reminder of what vibes with my personal proclivities the most

Honestly, my "guides" for potential hidden gems are usually just whatever YT reviewers I trust, HG101 and sometimes just me thinking "oh, I wanna try that out". Maybe a game just looks like it's my type of thing and that's enough for me to consider playing it at some point. There are quite a few games that I ended up loving which I just played on a whim without knowing anything about it.

Yeah, the technology has improved these past few years, but the thing is, languages have too many nuances to ever feel proper and natural through machine translation. No matter how advanced the AI may become, it will never be able to handle slang and expressions that can't be translated literally or even at all, a human that understand cultures can come up with a proper equivalent, not being stuck with reliance on a database.
