Yeah, a lot of the people I liked were assholes (like me) and I feel like left pretty early. I know TimeTraveler went over to a SomethingAwful channel for Dungeon Fighter Online, though I don't think he was actually a SA member when he did.

I felt like it was high time to practice coloring on my art so I'm preparing a trace of a Pangya bara pic (Bob/Azer/Daisuke) that I found on Pixiv to study said pic to practice coloring and shading, and take notes on its detail work and how it stylizes anatomy (though some of its anatomy is jank, I'm not a fan of how Uncle Bob's arms are set up).

I'll make sure to do more studying like this alongside copying a whole pic or landscape with only referencing to go by and standard attempts at making original art. I'll make sure not to keep it to only bulky men, I do want to be able to draw a lot of things, even cute women, believe it or not (just not in porn). Need to practice pixel art too.

I cannot afford to stagnate... At least just so I can keep making myself happy with relaxing art of my favorite characters (my friends' and copyrighted), and some original ones that I feel like designing, maybe landscapes and machinery designs too!

I may be weird for this (the good kind of weird), but I find detail work in clothing and inorganic designs (machinery and architecture and such) is really relaxing, I kind of just become absorbed in it. I guess it comes natural as a wannabe macro/micro artist, and also slight mecha fan. (need to finish Gundam First already, rewatch Eva and Megas XLR and start stuff like King Gainer, TTGL, VOTOMS, Turn A, Witch from Mercury, Nadesico, Getter Robo, p much 95% of the SRW catalog haha. Virtual-On and Front Mission 4lyfe. Wanna get into BattleTech, Assault Suits and Armored Core too.)

I once drew Luna's dress in Lunar Silver Star Story and I was just in a trance, it was mesmerizing. I need to get more clothing reference and inspiration ideas, especially super clunky, blocky shoes, I love that in a character.

Anyway don't see growing old as a universally bad thing, you still have quite a lot of your life to go before you reach heavy frailness and have to be taken care of. If you can, own your age while letting yourself still be childish enough to have fun when possible. Age is mostly a number, so just focus on having fun and surviving this kind of shitpost-y dystopia we're in.

there was a spider on my brother's car yesterday and i tried to get it out with a bit of receipt paper while we were out of town, but it was so scared it was hopping about and it fucked off back into the deepest recesses of his shitty like, peugeot or something. i feel so bad for it...

it's supremely funny because just a few days ago i was fucking terrified of a spider roughly about the same size in the bathroom at like 5 am and it was like not even close to me like this one was, it was next to the pipe that is where the bidet used to be, near the pile of clothes we just have there now

forgive me my one bedroom apartment looks like chris-chan's old house because we're all fucking tired and aging here and it's way too small for a family because we're somewhat low middle class, and im very embarrassed to talk about or show my house ever

Trying to find podcasts to listen to while playing TotK and I randomly put on an episode that came out today of Slightly Something Else, a podcast with Yahtzee Croshaw of Zero Punctuation as well as some other guy who is there for Yahtzee to have someone to talk to. (It’s not that great of a podcast, Yahtz had better rapport with Gabe in Let’s Drown Out)

They’re talking about horses in video games sucking, and about 9.5 minutes in when the idea of “is Yoshi a horse” was brought up, Yahtzee says he watched a few let’s plays by a dude whose second language was English and he persistently referred to Yoshi as a horse.
