Continue with SotC, I recommend <3 You use your sword with circle to find the new guys, a ray will always point out what direction they're in, like a compass, and it's just a matter of finding them through a maze of landscape.

SotC is fricken amazing so yeah.

Playing some Mario Golf: World Tour since some new tournaments have opened up. I've gotten nearly thirty hours out of this one so far. Pretty neat.

What
How was I supposed to know that?! I mean, I know your can do the light beam thing with your sword but they only ever pointed out you use it to find a colossi's weak point. I ran around for like a half hour last night and made no progress at all. ;c

Somewhere in the tutorial it should have said something about sword pointing = colossi. Of course it's been a while since I played that game... and I only did one colossi myself when I did.

And yet no colossi with an odd number of limbs. Such a shame.

In other news, I'm trying to get all the Portrait Ghosts to see Luigi as a worthy opponent.

Yeah, so I spent a bit over an hour playing SotC this morning and now that I know where to go I'm really enjoying it!
I just beat the bird colossi thing.

Just beat my 9th colossi.
Yeah, this game is super great once you know the gist of how it works.

Really, the main challenge of the game is the puzzle of "how do I climb this thing" and stamina management, but it's super fun. I had to stop playing cause I didn't want to blow through the whole thing too fast.

Have fun with the last guy! He really does tie up the game extremely nicely, a worthy final boss.

The last colossus is easily one of the most fun in my opinion too.

Just finished Lost Odyssey, finally. What an incredible game. It was clearly heavily based upon the old school SNES and PSX-era Final Fantasy games, albeit with modern graphics and technology behind it, which makes sense, as many key parts of its development staff were former Square-Enix staff members.

Not a lot more to say that I haven't already covered in other posts, really. The game is a bit on the easy side, but I still had a blast with it through and through. I wholeheartedly recommend Lost Odyssey to any longtime fans of the Final Fantasy series.

Next up: Continuing my playthrough of Dragon Quest 5 DS, but also giving Shovel Knight a try, since exactly everyone who's ever played it has loved it. Gotta get hype and all that.

I'll always like the little guys just because they add a nice contrast to the overall game and their puzzles are neat. Plus the one with the really lush, anchient ruins type scenery is pretty nice.

I finally caught the Horseshoe Crab to finish off my diving collection in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. One thing to fish up in a month or two and about six paintings/sculptures to donate to the museum before I put that game away for good.

A true story: I went to the Vulcano in High Rank. I farmed some mining nodes, caught some bugs and was on my way to the camp again. Then a Deviljho appeared. And after a fierce battle of 45 minutes, I won. And I got the Rust Great Sword (Now an Ancient Sword) afterwards. Worth.

I FINALLY got Bogmire to see Luigi as a worthy opponent. Come to think of it, he looks oddly similar to the regular ghosts. But then again, Vincent van Gore might have simply used Bogmire as inspiration.

Also, Bogmire sounds a bit like Crocomire.

Just started Shovel Knight. First impressions after completing the intro stage: Smooth control, fun gameplay, nice retro music, looks like a fair bit of variety in terms of items and collectables, as well. Graphics look a bit better than NES quality, though; more like the Master System or something. Not a bad thing, mind. Just an observation. Gameplay-wise, I can definitely see the parallels to Megaman and Ducktales. The fact that the game managed to "grab" me right off is a good sign. Looking forward to playing it more. Unable to form complete sentences. Incoherent rambling.

Hexcells Plus! On level 17, and at the point where playing more than two puzzles in a row burns me out due to the focus I pour into it. Still loving it, though.

2! At the Papa boss. The music is stuck in my head. I may have to use a proper strategy for this fight, it seems to require more planning than previous battles. I wish I didn't have to go through two rooms to get back after dying. Still loving it, though.

Jamestown! I'm playing mainly with my stepsister, and we've only beaten three levels on easy. I've gone back to play on harder modes to unlock more ship types, but I want to wait till we're together to play new stuff. Still loving it, though.

And as always, Towerfall! Whenever there're enough people around. Forever loving it.

You really do. I mean, it's definitely one of the cheapest AMAZING games I've seen in a while, on the level of return of say, Journey or Super Meat Boy or VVVVVV, all cheap but amazing games.

Oh my god, it took me like an hour to figure out the sand worm boss on SotC. EXCUSE me for not knowing I could ride the horse backwards.
I managed to figure out that I could stand and ride the horse but apparently backwards riding is harder to figure out.

Once I figured it out though, I killed the boss in like a minute.

Wow, okay. So thought process during the boss you find in the ruined city:
At first I thought it was pretty lame that they not only basically reused a boss you fought just a few fights ago, but it's the lamest, smallest boss you fight so far. Then I realized it was basically just platforming and I was like "oh man, this is so much fun!" Then I got to the end of the platforming part, and at this point the fight is basically over. You just need to have him knock some pillars onto himself and then stab away at him. I had gotten there on my first go, and was super happy with the boss fight. Then the boss hit me ONE TIME. ONE TIME, and even though it only took about 1/4 of my health bar, the stupid fricking character in the game literally takes like 7 seconds to stand up, which is about the same amount of time it takes for the boss to get ready to do another attack! So literally, right when your character gets up, the boss hits you again. And he will combo you until you're dead. So in short, the boss is basically a one hit kill but it taunts you by having it take like 30 seconds to kill you when you know you're already dead. So I had to redo the platforming segment again which takes like 5-10 minutes, which normally wouldn't annoy me, but it was barely my fault I died. I got hit once and nobody figured out that if the boss throws you against a wall you have no hope of escaping his hit chain.
They ruined a completely fine boss fight with the stupid "stare at your character and wait for him to get up" mechanic and it sucks cause I really would have liked that fight otherwise.
