At present I just have it where I just take 8 in a row after randomizing all 373 pokemon typesspittySynthyHands wrote:How are you generating these lists? I think there might be a way to weigh the chances of picking type combinations such that the ones with a lot of pokemon are picked far less often than combinations with only a few pokemon.
I could always drop out to round it off. I've been busy lately as I've been working, so getting matches done will be difficult.pholtos wrote:Well that's time. For now everyone who didn't get their matches done gets a tie.
Round 6 matches are set. For now there's simply a bye in the round. So yeah someone isn't playing next round as of currently. I'm wondering if I should just take over the remaining slot.

Now now kanga isn't the by all and end all choice for normals. :PZephyr_DragonLord wrote:I think that out of all those Normals...
Everyone's just going to pick Kangaskhan. ...If we were all uncreative, that is.
I think we're going to divide larger groups in such a way that the overlap between mons will be minimal. For example, a group of 5 Normal-type mons will include, say, a set-up sweeper, a revenge killer, a tank, etc. As for your specific example, none of the mons in the last few tournies where we've used my movesets have actually used Mega Stones, so Kangaskhan is actually pretty tame.Zephyr_DragonLord wrote:I think that out of all those Normals...

I think I will for this tourney. I'll definitely have to come back for future tournaments.pholtos wrote:If you really want out, then let me know.GlitchedGhost wrote:I could always drop out to round it off. I've been busy lately as I've been working, so getting matches done will be difficult.

When we're talking about gimmicks, we mainly mean new ways to hand out random mons, I think.Zephyr_DragonLord wrote:For alternative ideas, there are some alternative playstyles on Showdown. ...Some of them may be too complex for the purposes of hosting a tourney here, though.
Yeah, regular Kangaskhan is quite tame. Slaking might be a potentially big issue in our current style due to the additional levels it has....
Keep in mind Beedrill gets Endeavor and Tailwind, so its non-Mega form isn't useless...
Also, Unown is officially the humiliation after you paralyze and confuse the whole opposing team with Klefki. This is now canon.
For extra hilarity, I have found a way to become a literal Pokémon wizard.
