Hello and welcome one and all to the third rando pokemon tourney. I will be your host and tournament runner for this tourney, pholtos. Along with me is the great moveset maker sedron. Together we bring you an improved take on the rando style of pokemon that I have been refining since my first tourney.

To counteract many a discouraging loss I came up with a new style. I completely control what the teams are using a random generator. Each pokemon on said team has a moveset unique to them, and is viable in some fashion. So nothing like a seismic toss chansey is gonna be in this.

At the start of each round, I will send each person a pm with their three teams of six pokemon, including the movesets and abilities. Along with that I will send each person the three teams of six that their opponent will possess, with no more info than just the names of the pokemon themselves. This will be a double elimination with a variable number of battles per rounds (Still working on this bit, maybe allow you to switch for a different team of six after one round if you so choose, or it could just be the standard 2/3 wins, I dunno, working on this bit.)

Once you have selected which team you have decided on, you will copy the included import data for that team in the pm. You simply take that data and head into this site and head to teambuilder. Once in teambuilder you click on new team then click "Import from text" and paste the data, then click save.

You are allowed to change if it is a shiny or not and it's gender if you want (unless specified).
Nicknaming your pokemon is a must. :3
DO NOT change any more than that. The movesets, held items, EVs, IVs and levels are all set in stone and cannot be changed.

I believe that's all that needs to be said. Seeing as both me and sedron know all the movesets, neither of us will compete. Signups are set for an indeterminate amount of time.

A couple of notes, regarding rules and such!

I'll probably make a determination on whether mon gender will be preset/randomized or not once I'm actually done with the sets. It's really dependent on whether anything ends up with Cute Charm or some other form of infatuation (which I'm trying to avoid because it's dumb.)

As long as you're not nicknaming your mons NSFW stuff or after other mons (ie. naming a Blissey "Scizor,") I think you can and should do so. I'd love to see it as a mandatory thing actually. =P Heck, we could vote on the best nicknames later even!

Regarding the whole "Seismic Toss Chansey," thing, that's not to say that there aren't bulky or stall-y mons in the list. There are some mons that just wouldn't be viable without slower, grindy playstyles. This should be balanced, though, by a number of stronger offensive mons. My aim is to make it so offense and defense both have options, though balancing them among a randomized set of a few hundred mons means it may be a bit tough.

As for when this will start, I'm a little over halfway done with the sets after a little over a week working on it. I don't have an unlimited amount of free time to work on it, but I'd expect a week or two. I do need to test a few things when it's done and tweak the levels (specifically I need to make sure EV spreads for mons that use Substitute make sense.)
