EVO: Search for E-sports
So I don't know about you guys, but here's the schedule for my weekend:
Currently completely engrossed with Persona.
So who else here is just glued to their couch enjoying some good ol' fighting game action?

Re: Because there wasn't an EVO thread yet
I'm mostly interested in watching the finals. But other than that I'm excited to see what Xrd and SSB Wii U will be like.
As for P4U, I'm not usually interested unless there's a Teddie, Kanji, or Rise playing, because they're really the only 3 fun characters to watch IMO.
Oh yeah, and Stupei, Ace Defective. Can't forget him.

Too bad BlazBLue won't be played. Oh well, I still got Guilty Gear.
Also, I don't think adding a second Smash Bros was really that necessary, but eh, maybe I'll give it a try.

IDK man, I'm still salty about my Project M, but Melee is still always fun to me.FluffiMasta wrote:Too bad BlazBLue won't be played. Oh well, I still got Guilty Gear.

I haven't watched much Guilty Gear, so I'll be interested to see what it'll be like. It's Arc System, so I know it'll be good considering how much I like the Persona fighters.
Also Tekken. Tekken is fun. Haven't been keeping up with that one right now considering Persona.

I would think there'd be more anime fighters, but I guess none the are tournament worthy.Jesuiscontent wrote:blazblue schedule 4u fluffi
I'm still hoping for that Skillgirls to become an official thing though.

Re: Because there wasn't an EVO thread yet
HAHAHA they are actually kicking rosalina players from the stream and make them play their matches off camera, including Dabuz, because the character is so stupidly campy and anti-spectator. This is hilarious
Re: Because there wasn't an EVO thread yet
PFFFT. Now that's hilarious. While they're at it, kick Diddy Kong because no one wants to see him.Jesuiscontent wrote:HAHAHA they are actually kicking rosalina players from the stream and make them play their matches off camera, including Dabuz, because the character is so stupidly campy and anti-spectator. I feel like this exemplifies everything I don't really like about competitive Smash 4.Katazuki wrote:PFFFT. Now that's hilarious. It is hilarious though.
P.S. I thought of one.
Re: EVO: Search for E-sports
Oh man, when Gootecks jumps in to play, PogChamp emotes pop up like mad. I think it's the best emote though.
Also somehow I managed to miss P4U finals. Man, that tournament just came and went.

P4U finals haven't started yet. They're about to.Katazuki wrote:Oh man, when Gootecks jumps in to play, PogChamp emotes pop up like mad. I think it's the best emote though.

P.S. WOAH WOAH WOAH. So I had to reload the page since my internet derped, and apparently mid-stream, they implemented a paywall where you have to pay a $12 subscription fee in order to watch in source quality.
Absolutely ridiculous.
Re: EVO: Search for E-sports
Ah, I didn't notice the GMT -7 up there. Welp, hopefully there's a character I can enjoy watching in the top 8.TheFinalSentinel wrote:P4U finals haven't started yet. Also I've noticed that since I first started watching. Man, that sucks because I really wanted the 60 FPS.

Re: EVO: Search for E-sports
OH MAN.
That final match was amazing.
It's too bad Hagiwara dropped the ball like that. You could see how disheartened he was getting in his matches against Tahichi; playing pretty poorly there. Got his footing back in the end, but not quick enough to save it.
And then Chou with a phenomenal grand finals.
Too bad Yume wan't competing. That would've been a sight to see. Things would've gone quite differently methinks.

Re: EVO: Search for E-sports
To be perfectly honest, I felt like the Winner's and Loser's Final were much more clutch and interesting to watch. Grand Finals was way too one sided, and Tahichi was clearly not ready for Chou's best trap card.TheFinalSentinel wrote:OH MAN.

I saw so much Teddie hate in that chat though. I know why, but I view Teddie with the same sort of goofiness as Faust, so I love watching them play. But since there wasn't a Teddie in the end, I rooted for Chou. I for some reason prefer gimmicky characters to win as opposed to ones with raw power.

By amazing I mean that Chou was pretty much in complete control. Only lost one round to Tahichi.Katazuki wrote:To be perfectly honest, I felt like the Winner's and Loser's Final were much more clutch and interesting to watch. But W/L Finals were definitely more clutch. RIP Hagiwara.
Also, I agree. I really like Teddie and would love to learn him. I kinda like comparing him to Snake in the way you can use his items for all sorts of different setups and ground control and whatnot. But for now, I'll focus on improving my Adachi and Link, respectively.
