Any zelda fans?

Hello there, I did a bit of searching on these forums before posting this, found some stuff about a zelda classic thing(which i plan to look more into soon) but not much else, and especially nothing about the games i want to talk about.

Why am i posting this on taukhaus?
I'm a recent fan of Raocows, found him through his shovel knight LP, then watched his nezumi man and vip1 and vip2 LPs, they are very entertaining, raocow seems to have a respect for well crafted fan made games and i assume those who follow him do too, so i thought i would share these here, i myself haven't played these games in about a year or more(since the 4th game came out) and longer for the originals

there are 4 really cool fan made games made by a french programmer in c++(its not a romhack, and not a rpgmaker game, they are self executable, think megaman X street fighter)

I posted to raocow about the first game on his tumblr, but i thought it might be a good idea to see what you guys think about them as well

The first 3 games are a trillogy that are unofficial sequels to zelda: ALTTP(these games were created before ALBW was a thing)
the 4th game is a spin off, single title

The first game is called "The legend of zelda: Return of the hylian"
the second game is called "the legend of zelda: Oni link begins"
the third game is called "the legend of zelda: time to triumph(3T)"

and the 4th game is called "the legend of zelda: "navi's quest"

I really enjoyed these games, the first one is pretty short(1h speed run achievement in game) and not his best work, but it is the first, and by the time you get to time to triumph(8h in game speed run achievement) i think it rivals official nintendo zelda games.

they are so full of life, charm, and humor, and lots of things to collect and power up like any normal zelda game

the games have a mix of 2d zelda, 3d zelda(music and references), and other nintendo games like secret of mana, but it all feels 100% like a 2d zelda game

besides speedrun achievement, there is a low defense/low heart/no deaths achievement, and a 100% collectable achievement
each subsequent game tracks the achievements of the previous games so on the 3rd game there is a screen where you can preview your progress on all 9 achievements over the 3 games, with a secret unlock for completing them all(i never managed to do it)

DISCLOSURE i found these games after the first 3 were made, before the 4th one was made, i messaged the french programmer using google translate, and told him about my love of these games, and how sad it was that the english forums for his games were undervisited/full of junk posts, he made me a moderator to clean his english forums, but I am not a part of the team who made the games and they never asked me to share them, I just wish there was more love for these games because most LP's of them are online are in french

The games are translated into english as well as a few other langauges, here is the link to the english webpage where you can download the games and such

Anybody here played these games? i would love to see somebody else play them or talk about them, whether it is raocow or any of you

My favorite Zelda games are Adventure of Link for the gameplay, Link's Awakening/Oracle games for a combination of the gameplay and aesthetics, and Wind Waker for the aesthetics but not much else. Faces of Evil and Wand of Gamelon are my favorites for the cutscenes/"story" but have never had the misfortune of playing for myself.

I consider all three of A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask to simply be middling quality for the series; the last of these is the most different, but I don't think its flaws and merits add up to a net very far from the mean.

Least favorite of those I've played is Twilight Princess because puzzles were constantly stumping me, the atmosphere wasn't fun, and Midna was annoying. Couldn't catch a Reekfish, never made it to the snow temple, stopped caring. Even the ability to change into a wolf wasn't fun enough to keep me invested. I honestly have no idea why Midna is popular beyond "She is female" for the inevitable r34 and "She is a jerk" and jerk = personality trait = personality.

Ah, we actually do already have a thread for our favorite Zelda games, but it seems to be limited to official games as far as we've been discussing.
