Oh my god

It's Mighty No. 9 2.0

- Kickstarter video produced by 2 Player Productions.
- 2D concept art that raises expectations far too high.
- Developed by Inti Creates.
- By a popular video game industry veteran made a name for himself by being in a creative position on one critically acclaimed game, then was a producer for most of the games in the franchise.
- Kickstarter started at a time where everyone hates what the publisher of the original franchise has become.

Please don't fall for this again.

Please.

Over a million with 31 days to go? It does look like it will good, so I think I'll back it too.

Edit: I'll probably wait for some more content and updates first.

That's immediately what came to mind as well honestly, I'm starting to get wary of this "let's shove a polished portfolio and nothing else in people's faces to get big money" fad

At least Yooka-Laylee actually had gameplay to show off

They're planning to bring in David Hayter (voice of Solid Snake) to voice one of the main characters.

Estimated delivery is March 2017. I'd think they have enough time to make something good. There probably won't be too many other 2d Metroidvanias with this much resources and talent supporting them either. I'll still wait for some more information on the game first.

I'm gonna support it but I'm also not gonna be an idiot and fund too much into it to the point where I feel like I deserve something. This is sort of straying offtopic a bit but I funded Shovel Knight and it was fine. It was a good game, but I kind of wish there was more to it? I also funded that Shantae game and I want it to come out cause I wanna play it but I guess I'd rather have something good than to have something rushed.

My point is you can find a reason to hate something if you really want
I'm on Twitter and Discord so say hi to me on there cause I like to vanish from here forever repeatedly also I have sigs off so I can make my sig as ugly as I want and it won't bother me this is my sig btw

"as of now"

I didn't say it but that's the direction i was taking it

Edit: Also it's kind of hard to judge content that doesn't exist

Yeah, it's still hard to see the game's full pontential as of now. I guess I'll just wait for a month or two for more info about this.

I've really liked all these spiritual successors or inspired games lately. Shovel Knight, Azure Striker Gunvolt, Freedom Planet... Hoping to see this join the list along with Mighty No. 9 down the road.

With all of Konami's recent shenanigans, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they tried to somehow sue Igarashi for copyright infringement or some shit and get this shut down. I doubt they'd succeed, but I totally expect them to try. Because modern Konami.

Count me in the "being super cautious" camp. Mighty Number 9 sounded like a wet dream at the start too, but the more I see of it, the less faith I have in the "father" of Mega Man.

Having said that, I don't believe the Castlevania dude has given me any reason to be wary of his motives, so I'll be keeping tabs on this one.

Super excited for this, been wanting a true Castlevania game for a long time. Anybody listen to the music on the kickstarter page?
The one by Michiru Yamane sounds awesome!

EDIT:
The song by Ippo Yamada is very good too. This game is going to have an amazing soundtrack!

What do you expect from Michiru Yamane? I got Castlevania OSTs under her name and still, her pieces are awesome.

This game is supposedly going to be running on Unreal Engine 4, which as far as I am aware doesn't officially support the Wii U, so that'll be...interesting. I wonder if they'll go to the trouble of porting the engine themselves, or just use UE3 or Unity instead (not a programmer, no idea how feasible that would even be).

Also, the next goal down from the Wii U looks like...Co-Op Speedrun/Time Attack Mode?

Edit: Oh, okay, I actually read the update and what it says about the Wii U stretch goal. So it'll be developed by Armature, that company formed by some of the Metroid Prime lead developers who have gone on to make...Arkham Origins: Blackgate and a bunch of ports and remasters.

Tons of updates: Special Attacks and Familiars

I forgot to mention that the 2 new stretch goals are Asynchronous Online Multiplayer (3.25M) and Adding the Vita port (3.5M). With the Kickstarter reached 3.11M with 11 days left, who knows, we'll be seeing Bloodstained for the Vita (I hoped).
