So yeah, I know what you're thinking.
HEARTHSTONE, SOLFORGE, POKEMON, YUGIOH ONLINE! Dude, we have all these options, and even if Planeswalkers suck, we've got so many other options that I might as well not care!
or
Eh, I'm not really into card games. I think I'll pass.
Neither's a strawman and I've heard both many times when recommending Infinity Wars to people. Trust me, I sank 200 hours into this game, I know what I'm saying. So, what is Infinity Wars, other than a CCG? Well, it's an incredibly fun strategy game that plays like very few others, it's amazingly well balanced and made by loving, caring, Aussie dev team Lightmare Studios, and it's got such interesting lore and character archetypes that I can't help but adore everything about it. Now, I'll provide links right here, but more details later on in this post.

My username's Duvi0! Add me; we'll play and I'll give you some cards to help you start off!
So if what I had said didn't convince you, let me tell you more about the gameplay and mechanics, the characters and sense of humor, and finally all 8 factions of the game.
As for gameplay, it's somewhat simple. The decks are set and hands of 5 cards are drawn. You start with 1 Resource(s) and as the turns go by, this amount will increase. You have 4 zones. Command, Support, Defense, and Assault. Assault is the method in which you attack the enemy's fortress. Defense is where you defend from enemy attack. Support is a general "safe area", and Command dictates which factions your characters can be. It's all very complex, but once you get the hang of it (I recommend playing through the Campaigns and Academy first), then it's insanely fun.
Players take simultaneous turns so the focus is less on getting the right cards and much, much more on reading your opponent's moves. The game can be won by one of two methods. Depleting your opponent's health or morale. Morale is lost when a card dies, while health is lost when your fortress is attacked. The balancing is done astoundingly well so if you know what you're doing more than your opponent, you're WAY more likely to win.
Still not convinced, or reading more of what Blueberry Mohawk has to say? Well, the characters are all distinct in appearance and when they appear in the campaign, they can be incredibly fun, ESPECIALLY Flame Dawn. The characterization is most often given in short descriptions on the cards, which also highlight the developers' humor. When there's a card called Terror Moose, Give Him a Jetpack, or Dropbear, you KNOW the developers have a sense of humor. Having a good amount of lighthearted joking in an overall bleak and serious game makes it all the more memorable.
Finally, the overview of the factions. This is going to be pretty simple, but as you probably know by now, long-winded.
Flame Dawn- A military force of aggressive knights. They are well trained and typically swarm an opponent as quick as can be. Your typical rush faction with a few twists.
The Warpath- A faction of animals attempting to defend their home world from aggressors coming out of the rifts. They're based entirely on getting out bulky, huge creatures and keeping them alive.
Genesis Industries- An industrial, mechanical society based around bringing new inventions to the table. Their gameplay gimmick is buffing others through various means.
Cult of Verore- A dark, mysterious magical force to be reckoned with, the Cult of Verore's gameplay gimmick is MAKING YOUR OPPONENT CRY. I mean, using a lot of spells and countering their every move.
The Sleepers of Avarrach- Robotic zombies that continually infect and infest. They seem to have some semblance of sentience, but no one knows for sure... Their style focuses on utilizing their own death to grow stronger and stronger.
Descendants of the Dragon- Noble, stalwart people of a generally peaceful race forced into war. Their main gameplay style is walling your opponent into losing all morale.
The Exiles- Your boy Duvi's faction of choice, the Exiles are a race of demons that were exiled to another dimension of wasteland and filth! However, when the rifts were opened, they were set free once more! Their main gameplay style has to do with sacrificing your own cards and being as UNPREDICTABLE AS POSSIBLE.
The Overseers- These angelic dudes and dudettes, almost all of which are in skin-tight suits. They're the paranoid rulers of the universe, seeking out Sleepers and all associated with them to destroy them. Their style has to do with flying, Champions, and being angel dudes, I guess.
So yeah, I'd love to see more of the Talkhaus get into Infinity Wars, since it's a game I really and truly love!
