Re: What emulator do you use?
I actually recently realised bsnes (now called higan) now does NES+SNES+GB+GBA emulation so I'm using that (and I really see the upgrade in everything compared to snes9x). Also, Project64, ePSXe, and PPSSPP

Higan is great and I need to use it more often. I don't emulate too much.

GBA: Visual Boy Advance
SNES: ZSNES and snes9x
DS: No$GBA
That's pretty much it, I only have handheld and I've been using them for like a decade now (VBA I've used since like 2003-2004)

Snes: I been using snes-9x since highschool(Which was in 2008 i think)
Nes: This has varried for a while now but i stick with nestopia
SEGA things: Although i dont play sega games that much i use fusion for almost all of them
Ps2 and ps1: I use pcsx2 and epsxe to play(or attempt to play in the case of pcsx2 Since iso's work better on that.) Game i actualy own(I got 90 something ps2 games i think and about 15 ps1 games.)

Re: What emulator do you use?
PCE: Magic Engine, Ootake for CD games
NES: Fceux
SNES: SNES9X
Master System, Genesis, Sega CD: Fusion
NeoGeo: NEOrageX
MAME: (shmupmame for lagless and thundermame to play various toaplan shooters with sound)
I wanna emulate PS1 but I suck at using plugins and it all goes to hell.

Re: What emulator do you use?
It doesn't have the same 'cycle-accurate 100% perfect emulation' for anything but SNES though. I couldn't tell you offhand what it was I ran into issues with for NES or GBA, but Metal Gear: Ghost Babel crashes on level 3 and Pokémon gen 1 doesn't even get to the intro.Jesuiscontent wrote:I actually recently realised bsnes (now called higan) now does NES+SNES+GB+GBA emulation
That said, higan for everything it can run, Nestopia/VBA-M for what it can't, VirtuaNES to rip some graphics like one time ever, PCSX-Reloaded for PS1, and I believe I used Gens Plus! that one time I played the Genesis version of The Lion King.

Re: What emulator do you use?
yo guys. this thread is very busy, way busier than slow SMWCentral forums. Thanks for replying so fast.
Re: What emulator do you use?
For SNES games, mostly ZSNES. No real reason, just find it a bit more convenient at this point in time.
And hey, I play a lot of Japanese Mario ROM hacks. The community over there apparently doesn't give a toss about hardware compatibility or accuracy, so I suspect using anything else would break half their work.
