Noxious actually recently was trying for making spell damage work in a vid, to mild effect, but as with most of the things he does it was a fun gimmick with lackluster results compared to tried and true decks.

BMT has so little value in my eyes and I can very, very easily see it being a dead card in many hands.
+1 Spell damage isn't a super-always-powerful thing by itself, but at least once per game it can make a huge difference, and Bloodmage Thalnos is a card that lets you take spell damage with the lowest risk possible. He's been used in mage, rogue, druid and shaman decks that make it near the top of legendary plenty of times.

Maybe none of the streamers/youtubers you've watched have used him to great effect, but he absolutely is "a good card" and one of the staple legendaries that go in and out of use. People who know what they're talking about when they say "spell damage minions just aren't very good" often append that with "except bloodmage thalnos". The downside is usually "you just wasted a card/mana on an overcosted minion who will die for free", but when thalnos dies you get your card back. It's like being shaman able to roll a spellpower totem with 100% certainty once per game.

Bwarch needs to 'git gud' as I believe the phrase has it.

Nah, I think Bwarch is at least as good as me, if not better. We're on about the same level. We're just familiar with different subsets of "people better than us", so we have different impressions of what's there.

Oh god, haha. That game was stressful. I was already feeling shaken from the tense end to the first game, and then I was doing terribly with my shaman, which I thought should have been good against his mage.

It was worth a shot, though, right? Thanks to bloodmage thalnos, it was 100% chance to kill his one 6-health guy, 25% chance to kill the Rag. And even if the rag survived with 1-2 health, that should be easy to remove, right? Right????

That entire game, I was begging my deck to produce a Hex. Never happened.

The two streamers I watch main priest so.

That probs has something to do with my knowledge set. Granted Amaz is doing everything BUT priest nowadays since priest is kinda behind meta-wise. And it's frustrating to play against other things... especially mech mage probably.

Gods. Mech mage probably destroys priests, since they're so slow and count on being reactive.

I am never gonna disenchant this.

Edit: My friend asked me to make a stupid deck so I made the following:
Warrior:
Wisp
2x Execute
Shield Slam
Whirlwind
Abusive Sergent
2x Argent Squire
Armorsmith
Bloodsail Raider
2x Cruel Taskmaster
Faerie Dragon ♥
2x Murloc Tidehunter
Ogre Warmaul
2x Shield Block
Acolyte of Pain
Flying Machine
Frothing Berserker
Raging Worgen
2x Raid Leader
2x Razorfen Hunter
Tauren Warrior
2x Warsong Commander
Kor'kron Elite
He was playing a Burst Shaman and I annihilated him 47-(-3) with the final blow being delivered by my dear golden Wisp. Really didn't expect this lowrange charge deck to do so well but I stood corrected. Definitely not a deck I'd play in Ranked but it does a good job at being fun to play.

I got an angry friend add, it was glorious. I'm not sure what the guy was trying to say (mostly because he unfriended me and I lost it) but apparently I was hacking? I don't know how, I thought I had lost. Somehow I forgot that druids take damage when they use their hero power and I was not, in fact, dead. Basically I had a taunt up and with his hero ability he had exactly lethal - or would have if he wasn't at 1 health. Ah well, it was fun. I am enjoying my hunter deck so I am going to edit it in here sometime

Here's the deck I've been playing today up to rank 8. I really like hunter and I've been enjoying this deck. It's definitely not perfect, but it's been working for me. Kind of just wanted to play around with Call Pet (for some reason it was the hunter card I was most excited for in GvG) and after I got two I made this. I dunno, could probably take out the Call Pets to be honest!

That's neat, I think I want to try it out. I've been realizing lately that I don't hate the hunter class, I just hated the Buzzard Unleash combo.

Call Pet is a weird card. I like the idea, but it seems impossible to build a deck that uses it effectively? Like, you'd want at least half of your cards to be beast minions, at least half of those costing 3 or more, in order for the card to be beneficial on average. But a deck with that many minions sounds terrible. Even Animal Companion doesn't count.

I... might have had my best season riding a super-aggro face hunter deck when Undertaker was insanely powerful, pre-GVG. It was such a cheap deck, and I usually prefer slow, control-y decks, so I hated myself for playing it, haha.

I like where hunter is now. It's still strong but not keyboard-breakingly cheap when the draw goes a certain way.

I don't know why I didn't screencap this, but just now I was up against an oil rogue as priest: she had 8 health, I had 12. Had Dark Cultist, Piloted Sky Golem, and some other mechs out.

She spends her entire turn on the blade flurry clear and kills everyone. Lightspawn pops out of the sky golem, gets 3 more health from the cultist, now an 8/8, I win.

No doubt the luckiest RNG I've ever gotten, haha.

Shredder -> Patient Assassin drop to remove Ironbark and win game on 7 health for me.

I'd just like to state... I've come across a new "favourite thing to try to do on ladder for silly fun".

It's called.... Kel'Thuzad + Feugen/Stalagg + Reincarnate. I'm sure this is old hat for many, but been trying it for the first time myself recently.

Even if one loses one of the three parts of that combo, it's still a set of cards that have good synergy. I mean... all three creatures there seem to be silence-bait, and reincarnate or (non-silenced) Kel-Thuzad are both ways to circumvent the silence... If only there were a good way to circumvent polymorph though...

Soooooo

How likely is Dr. Boom to get nerfed, peeps? Because I just opened a second one from an arena pack and I wanna disenchant it, but I don't wanna lose out on 1200 dust.

I think he's likely to get nerfed but Blizzard has shown that they're very slow with nerfs even if they're obvious (Miracle, undertaker)

So, yeah, not the worst idea to hold onto him until then. But you will be waiting a while.

Yeah, if any legendary gets nerfed anytime in the next few months, it'll be Boom. I'd hold on to the duplicate.

It is most definitely going to be nerfed. I mean, when every single deck in existence uses him I don't know what other hint they need to nerf something

Yeah probably

Sometimes, it's not about getting the most over-powered card. It's about getting the one that'll piss your opponent off just enough...
