Yonder Game System Graveyard

Hello everybody, I have made this thread in order to let everybody show, mourn, or even help with other's whose gaming console has been broken or bricked. Due to something bad that happened to me today, I was inspired to do this thing. While it still technically works, the future looks bleak for my 2011 3DS.

Today at around 1 P.M., I had my 3DS in sleep mode, walking around with it. I was in the middle of playing Smash Bros when I accidentally bumped it in the bottom-right corner. While this might sound normal, it had a dire consequence. A while back, I was helping my sister with her weird broken 3ds, where almost no buttons and the touch screen worked for some reason. I opened my working 3DS as comparison to see if anything was different. I only went as far as the battery, but nothing was wrong, so I gave up on it. However, I messed up screwing back the right side of the back, so it was loose there. Any slight bump would turn it off. I had no inclination to find the tiny screwdriver again, so I shrugged it off.

My 3DS Turned itself off in sleep mode.

Now whenever I turn it on, I get two lit black screens and and the wifi, power, and 3D lights working, as if it were in sleep mode. Any emergency shortcuts to update or configure it work, but it has no effect on the home menu. I have tried basically everything but let it run out of battery now, and still no luck. I can't send it in to get it fixed, because it's out of warranty and I have no money. I even tried the dark arts (above), but to no avail. PANTALONES GIGANTICUS!

Well, I hope the rest of you are enjoying smash bros. I had 4 challenges left.

Post your funny/tragic/both game system death story below.

My cat peed in my ds lite. Seriously. and then it shorted out and wouldn't work anymore.

That's all there is to my story.

My PS1 doesn't turn on anymore. It's old. I expected it to happen and it did. My PS1 memory cards also sometimes don't work. Their batteries are probably failing. Nothing can be eternal.

This is the downer thread isn't it?

My first two DS's (DS clssic and DS lite) kicked the bucket from over use. The batteries got worn down and the buttons stopped working. Same thing with my first PSP. I... Tend to use handhelds to breaking point.

Well duh the hexagram is poorly made

Some of the points are longer than the others, also there are only five points in your hexagram

Sloppy job, Squeegee

My Playstation 1 won't really load games that well anymore, freezing up after the logo or during a game itself. It's okay since I have a PS2, but there are times I like using the PS1 controller more.

My Wii just stopped turning on a few years ago. Lost like $200 in WiiWare and VC titles.
Also my 100% Megaman 10 save file.

I had an old fat model PS2 die about ten years ago. Got a slim model not long afterwards, and I've had no problems with it since.

I always worry about memory cards, battery-backed carts, and things like that dying on me... but so far, it hasn't happened yet. My (first party) PSX memory cards from the late 90s still work just fine. Third party ones... hah. I had a few, but they sucked even at the best of times. And let's not get started on that terrible "15-page" memory card, which regularly corrupted half the files on it before I got rid of it.

My brother's Sega Genesis which we used to play all the time is really old and freezes up after a few minutes of use. That's about all on my end.

I had a Turbo Grafx-16 die on me when I knocked it over because the stupid cord on the controller is too short. had to get another one to replace it. The TG-16 I have right now still works, but the pins (or whatever you want to call them) on the controller came off and are stuck in the Player 1 port of my TuroboTap. Controller still works, just gotta keep it plugged into Player 1 on the TurboTap.

On my SNES, the reset switch is broken, but otherwise still works. Never had a problem yet on my Wii.

I had: a NES that I kept ripping the back cord out of until the port wouldn't hold the cord anymore; two SNESes that I kept spilling food and drinks on until they wouldn't work anymore; a N64 that got taken apart; two Gamecubes that had been used so much the disc readers quit working; a Genesis that got lost somewhere and probably destroyed somehow; a Gameboy that was used to destruction; and three Gameboy Colors that were lost or otherwise disappeared.

Incidentally, one of those GBCs was actually my cousin's, and was retired when I punched it hard enough to make the ink explode all over the screen.

I break or lose too many game thingys.
