Some Super Mario World ExGFX I may as well release...

Post by CM30 »

I have absolutely no use for these in my current (and presumably final) project, so I guess I'll release them for anyone who wants to use them for their own ROM hacks. If you want to submit them on SMW Central, go ahead. But I won't.

Space Factory Tileset

Taken from some game or another a pretty darn long time ago, it was also used in a few games by Fusion Fangaming.

Wario Land 2 GFX Pack

About 80% of all tilesets from Wario Land II, now in SMW format.

Rudy the Clown (Wario Land 3)

God knows what this could be used for, I think it was once intended for a layer 2 boss. Unfortunately, I don't have the palette any more.

I Wanna Be the Guy stuff

Various stuff from that game and a few other platform hell titles on PC. From a scrapped level in an old ROM hack.

Double Dragon Airport/Ghostly Airport/Dead Air

An airport tileset from a Double Dragon game on SNES, Super Double Dragon to be precise. You may also recognise it from Super Mario Fusion Revival, where some of its tiles were edited and mixed with Metal Slug graphics to make a Left 4 Dead inspired stage:

Actraiser Stormrook

A golden castle tileset, which looks very, very nice indeed.

You can see it, along with the airport and castlevania tilesets, in this video:

Metal Slug Graphics

Image

Some nice gfx from Metal Slug. Just be warned, these use about 6 gfx files and an absolutely massive amount of map16 space, so are probably not useful for many normal games.

Edit:

Ashley's Mansion (WarioWare)

Ashley's Mansion from WarioWare Touched, now as a SMW background.

So yeah, just some stuff I had lying around unused. No idea where to find the Castlevania Bloodlines tiles I had set up though, those palace gfx would probably be pretty good in other SMW hacks (or adapted to SMBX).

CM, it seems you were always great at ripping GFX. Just got the Stormrook tileset and had a blast assembling a level with it!

Also, quick question, are you Nin3DS from on the nintendo3dscommunity forums?

Thanks, it's much appreciated! Nice to see someone's using the graphics for a level!

Is this for Colossus?

And yes I am (nin3DS from nintendo 3ds community forums). However, keep this in mind...

Nintendo 3DS Community is no more.

TalkNintendo is the replacement, and I will probably change to a different username to go with it. Something more... well, informal I guess. Dunno what, I've always been fond of a certain level of anonymity online.

On another note, while I won't release them for a while, I may as well post that I've been ripping Castlevania tiles from Symphony of the Night for Mario's Nightmare Quest:

If anyone wants to see them (or some other really nice tiles), play that game in 2015 or so.

I watch your review channel on Youtube. You also use it to post videos of your own hack.

So yes.

And on a related note, I suspect a lot of people now know of your game because you're seen as the ROM hack critic or whatever. And when you're a well known critic... well, they want to see your own works in that area, as a kind of 'practice what they preach' thing.
