The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

So, I figure that since this game will be coming out pretty soon, I might as well get a thread started for this in advance. I'm pretty excited for this game, and I'm sure a few others will be as well, so here's a place to discuss things right now, and when the game actually comes out.

If you haven't seen yet, here's some gameplay that was shown off a few days ago:

Lots more information and regular leaks/things shown off by Edmund and Tyrone can be found at
http://bindingofisaac.com/

One thing I find pretty interesting that was mentioned recently on the blog, is that the game will have a seed system, similar to Minecraft. This means, if you're playing a map you find particularly interesting, challenging, etc. you can find out the seed and write it down to play it again sometime, or share the seed with someone so they can check out the map too!
This will probably be really interesting. I'd imagine there will be particularly hard map seeds that will start circulating, and people will be doing the "C8H2 NF5R seed challenge run".

I will probably buy it, since I already liked Binding of Isaac pretty much (now that I think about it, I never reached the church level)

This seed idea is great, just need enough luck to find a challeging map and torture my friends with it. (My best friend and I are some kind of arch-nemesises)

I like the updated aesthetic a lot. Nice new music, and the graphical style captures the feel of the game while still being SNES-y. I hope we get some of the old music still, though. Particularly Greed (the shopkeeper theme.)

Gameplay-wise as long as it's not as much of a trainwreck as Wrath of Lamb was it'll probably be pretty freaking great.

Super excited for this!

I've been following this pretty damn close since it was announced.
It looks incredible, and I can't wait.

One criticism though, while multiplayer is a thing, it doesn't look as good as it could be.
Instead of two Isaacs or something, one person plays as a gimped baby thing that cant get its own items and is essentially like player 2 in Smash Bros Brawl story mode. There for the ride, but not really being that useful.

Other than that though, it looks super neat, and any new Isaac is good Isaac.

I only played the original once, liked it

Killed the first bosses in about 5 seconds due to accidentally spamming all of my bombs.

And then I played super hexagon for the first time and unofficially became a great wizard

Rip Guppy, hopefully your body won't be cut into pieces and scattered in a basement.

Preorder is here!
$15 full price, and $10 for people who already own the original BoI!
http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/250900/

Official launch is November 4th. Also, you can watch the new trailer on the Steam page. It's really freaking creepy.

Cool.

Seems a bit odd that the discount for people who own the original only applies during the pre-purchase period, though.

It's likely because there will be more sales/giveaways of original Isaac in the future, and if it goes forever then people will be able to get Isaac for like $1 and then get the $5 discount on Rebirth.

And I mean, you have 2 months. Anyone should be able to rummage together $10 in that time.

I get that. I just haven't seen a loyalty discount that explicitly says "hey, this only applies if you pre-order the game" before (then again, I haven't paid much attention to that kind of stuff).

definetly go with my father to that construction site again to earn some money for this game.

AFAIK, you can only play Multiplayer locally, right?

So apparently there will be secret seeds in the game that will add filters. Pretty neat!

1 DAY REMAINS

I'm actually kind of pissed, because Rebirth was supposed to launch on Halloween according to Edmund, but since the PS Store only updates on Tuesdays, they had to move it to the 4th. If it launched on Halloween, it would have been perfect because I had a couple classes early in the morning and then I was free the rest of the day.
Tuesday, on the other hand, I leave the house around 9am and don't get back until almost 6pm. And I can't stay up late to play it because I have an early class the next morning and won't be able to get up otherwise. Tuesday is the worst day they could launch it for me. Saturday would have also sucked, but Tuesday is still pretty bad.

Well I have classes until at least 3-4 pm and afterwards gotta learn a lot.

So it's not that better for me either. Meh.

It's now available for preloading on Steam.
I can't handle this icon sitting on my desktop, staring me down. Knowing the information to be able to play this game is on my computer, but until I get the tiny little key patch I can't play it. It's too much. In the words of that guy that uses Twitch emotes in his posts:
