i dont know because they revealed so little

"open world zelda" is a really broad concept

They didn't really show gameplay either, I'm pretty sure that was all cutscene. I think it's very early in development so they're hesitant to show off anything major, as they should be. They were probably pressured by higher ups to put something together for E3.

Nintendo won E3, no surprise.
Anyway for the games shown

Captain Toad : Heee that's actually a good surprise but a full game of this is a strange idea. Maybe it's a Mario 3D World DLC that's also sold as retail copy similar to New Super Luigi U.

Bayonetta 2 : Not interested in the game, but including the first game with Bayonetta 2 is a really good idea so you can enjoy the entire franchise without using two different systems.

Smash U : Still hype. I don't mind Miis, but three different moveset? A bit of a waste. Palutena was obvious she would be in, and I'm ok with it. Pacman eeeeeeeeh I understand why but... at least they used the old design and not the gayass new redesign.

Amiimoo or whatever the figurines are called : As long as it's optional and we can enjoy the full game without I don't mind. I dislike DLC in generals, at least you have a cool figurine now. Well let's see how Nintendo are gonna work with this.

Pokemon : Where's Pokken fighter? Mega Groudon is ground/fire, nice.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse: I liked Power paintbrush so I like this.

Zelda U : No gameplay shown, no care for the moment.

Mario Maker : I like making Mario games. I was waiting for this. Now that there's an official editor, I will sure use it. But I will wait to see more about the fonctionnalities and the limits. I hope you can release package of multiples levels are some mini games and not only singles levels.

Splatoon : The best game of this E3 by far. Seems like a tons of fun, the squid lolis are cute, the gameplay is great. The squid transformation can make some good strategy, with climbing on walls or hiding in the ink. It's not destroy everything, but splash everything with ink. Definitely looking forward to this game.
Really impressed by the large amonth of fan art made of this game so far (lots of H ones too).

Mario Party 10 : In the same vehicule again? It's shit, wouldn't play.

Yoshi's Wooly World : Seem nice. Finally a Yoshi game that doesn't sucks? Let's hope.

Project Giant Robot : A nice concept, I don't know how a full game of this will turn. Maybe make it a short eshop game. Same for the tower defence game bu I don't like TD game so I don't care.

The one thing I will say about the new Mario Party is that it will actively use the pad in minigames as its shown in the trailer and I like that. I like Mario Party along with my friends so I might pick that up.

I'm far more excited when Wii U games use the pad than I was when Wii games used waggle mechanics. I really like the Wii U pad so seeing it used in interesting ways is neat.

I'm not sure how the Toad levels slowed the game down, when there were only six of them in Mario.

I don't care about Bayonetta, but Nintendo costumes? Didn't some tekken fighter game already try that?

Also, apparently, the Link we saw in the Zelda U adventure, wasn't actually Link. Wut?

After seeing the Hyrule Warriors gameplay, the chance of me getting the game has been bumped up to 90%. I will still wait for the review to tell me it is more than just 'mash Y to win'.

From what Shemp says Aonuma has been known to be a troll, so take it with a grain of salt.

You just described Dynasty Warriors in a nutshell so hey. It's a possibility. I really like what I'm seeing from Hyrule Warriors in terms of visuals and characters and character design, but historically I despise Dynasty Warriors on the combat side since the enemies always feel like they're paper mache.

I mean the pace slows down. Mario moves reasonably fast - not as fast as 2D Mario but that's a different discussion - while Toad moves as if he's Mario wearing lead shoes. Combined with the fact that he can't jump so you'll be waiting a lot and it means you progress through the levels a lot slower. The levels themselves probably take about the same time to complete as a Mario level but they're much shorter. They only take the same time to complete because you're moving so much slower.

Ok, I can see you will always not like the Toad levels, but I always just approached them as a side game to the main game.

Back to Hyrule Warriors, I never played a game in the series, but what is holding me back is the 'mash A to win' aspect of the series. Its the main complaint that I' have heard.
Also, watching the demo, I don't like how the monsters and soldiers just stand there sometimes. The guy playing game beats down their dragon, and they stand there, while I'm yelling "DO SOMETHING! ATTACK ME!" If their moral is shot, then express it! Anyone who isn't important just seem lifeless. Another warriors staple, I know.
I wonder why Midna is in her imp form again. They better have a good in story reason better than 'she was cursed again'.
Also, Majora's moon, scarier than ever.

So now, Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac Man are all going to be in the same game.

This is a sentence I would probably never expect to say in my lifetime.

I approached them the same way. Kind of hard to do otherwise when that's what they are. And Toad being slower than Mario and being unable to jump isn't an opinion or anything, that's a fact of the stages. Me thinking that's a terrible thing is the opinion part. You may like the stages but that would be in spite of or possibly due to the slow movement and no jumping. They're just the unavoidable rules of the level.

I hope Mario party 10 won't have a lot of shitty minigames

pit or platter is terrible minigame of all time (mario party 9)

About Mario Marker I think on NSMBU theme there should be powerups like in that game because that would be so awesome

splatoon is awesome game , but i dunno if i will play a lot , because i dont play wii u too much so I rate it 9.9/10

Also some games like SSB4 and captain toad's treasure tracker are very cool ,too.

nintendo thinks it will beat sony this time

If you're being serious, I think you just lent some credence to my thoughts.

Shemp, you're like the only one in this thread who didn't like the Captain Toad levels. Everyone else who's commented either liked them or hasn't played them, and I've seen plenty of positive reactions elsewhere, including among my friends and on other websites. The most people are saying is "Well, as long as it's not 60 dollars it'll be good," and New Super Luigi U and Game & Wario show that Nintendo is willing to change prices based on the game. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong or anything. I'm just saying there is definitely a market for Treasure Tracker, as long as they price it right.

As for art styles... You've said before that you hate cutesy art styles. But you're wrong in thinking that people all over don't like them. Wind Waker's graphics were derided heavily before it came out, sure. But these days, practically everyone I've encountered says it's one of their favorite Zelda games in terms of artistic direction. The yarn style is unusual, but that's not what made me hesitate on purchasing Kirby's Epic Yarn. What did that was hearing that it barely plays like a Kirby game at all.

Cute is in. Maybe not among your friends, but it's not exactly an unusual thing these days.

Daaaamn! Wooly World seems to be nothing like Kirby's Epic Yarn! Even the art-style is really different and more appealing to the eye! My hype has increased.

All these material-centric visuals in Nintendee games recently! Kirby Clay, Yoshi Wool,
and uhhhh
I guess those are the only new ones I recall but you know there've been others.
I like interesting graphic style, but I dunno about all this yarn, something about wool just is too soft to be satisfying much.

Huh, I didn't realize they were working on yet another Sonic game. It seems kind of cool, but from what that video shows, I'm not impressed with the gameplay or story. I really hope it controls better and has better level design than previous 3D Sonic games. I also hope its high-speed sections include less boost-pad spam. If the gameplay/level design features those things then I think it could shape up to be pretty darn great.

I also feel like they SERIOUSLY need to stop reinventing the story and just go back to "oh no Eggman is trying to steal the universe/blow up the moon/etc" instead of "oh look a monster thingy is coming out of nowhere so fight it." It's really starting to take away from the charm of the story in Sonic games.

and when they really did go back to a nice sonic game (Sonic 4) they only did two episodes even though im pretty sure they were probably aiming for more when they first conceived it

ive heard some people say they dislike Sonic 4s physics but personally its close enough to be a nice classic-ish sonic for me

I also quite enjoyed Sonic 4, even if the design was just a wee bit bland in places (moreso in episode 2). But yeah, I'd totally go for another 2D Sonic game like that (as long as it was designed well enough).

Really? Let's take a look at the hard statistics so we can discount all talk of each others' reference pools of friends. For something to be "in", it would mean that everyone likes it, and the best arbiter of that is sales data.

10 best-selling games in 2014 so far (spoilered for length):
1. Watch Dogs (3.76 million)
2. Call of Duty: Ghosts (3.00 million)
3. Titanfall (2.88 million)
4. FIFA Soccer 14 (2.11 million)
5. Battlefield 4 (1.83 million)
6. Grand Theft Auto V (1.81 million)
7. Minecraft (1.70 million)
8. inFAMOUS: Second Son (1.36 million)
9. Dark Souls II (1.22 million)
10. Pokemon X/Y (1.17 million)
Pokemon's a cute game. That's one of out of 10 and it's 10th place.

Now, 2014's only halfway through, so let's look at the 10 best-selling games in 2013 (again, spoilered for length):
1. Grand Theft Auto V (29.49 million)
2. Call of Duty: Ghosts (17.72 million)
3. Pokemon X/Y (9.94 million)
4. FIFA Soccer 14 (9.93 million)
5. Battlefield 4 (7.74 million)
6. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (4.60 million)
7. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (4.37 million)
8. The Last of Us (4.21 million)
9. Animal Crossing: New Leaf (4.19 million)
10. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (3.40 million)
Well, this time there's two: Pokemon X/Y (3rd place) and Animal Crossing: New Leaf (9th place). Still, look at the gulf between first and second then the gulf between second and the rest of the list.

Lastly, let's go back to probably the furthest definition of "now": 2012.
1. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (19.98 million)
2. Assassin's Creed III (8.13 million)
3. Halo 4 (7.20 million)
4. FIFA Soccer 13 (7.20 million)
5. Pokemon Black/White Version 2 (5.97 million)
6. Just Dance 4 (5.53 million)
7. New Super Mario Bros. 2 (5.00 million)
8. Kinect Adventures! (4.47 million)
9. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (4.39 million)
10. Madden NFL 13 (4.10 million)
One cute game and once again it's Pokemon (Pokemon Black/White Version 2) at 5th place this time. Again, though, look at the gulf between first and the rest.

A rational look at the statistics shows that cute is not popular in video games with the exception of Pokemon.
