Bragging time: what games do you kick ass at?
Don't be shy, out of all the games you've played bound to be good at at least one of them!
I'm pretty competent at F-Zero GX, which considering that it was (afaik) one of the most difficult Gamecube releases I'm sort of proud of. That and TF2, I can rock everything apart from Spy and Heavy and those gaps are there more due to a lack of interest than lack of skill. Although given the silly amount of time I've sunk into that game might not be saying much.

I've developed a worryingly reliable feel for LittleBigPlanet's physics engine's quirks.
And I used to be able to consistently beat Noitu Love 2 on Hardest difficulty, but it's been a while.

I'm a pretty good TF2 Medic. At least, in non-competitive settings. I probably wouldn't last a minute in the competitive world.

I'd like to say I'm pretty good at SMW. I beat Vip4 without savestates (well I used savestates at checkpoints so I didn't have to go life farming but that's it) which I think is one of my bigger video game accomplishments.
Also I got pretty decent at the 8-bit Megaman games a while back. I got all the achievements in Megaman 10.

Super Mario Sunshine or Crash Team Racing.

Re: Bragging time: what games do you kick ass at?
I don't think I'd describe myself as "kicking ass" at any game, but I'm pretty good at SuperTuxKart and decent enough at The Ur-Quan Masters to be able to wipe the floor with most people.*
Also, since I know it like the back of my hand, King's Quest VI. But that's nothing to brag about it; I've just memorized it.
* Mind you, this is largely because the A.I. in The Ur-Quan Masters is pathetic and easily manipulated; if you haven't played a lot of multiplayer games, you suck at combat, period.

I've beat pretty much everyone I've played at Tetris Attack/Panel de Pon (a surprisingly large amount of people), so there's that. I'm also pretty great at Yoshi's Island, SMW, and any of the Castlevania games.

Starfire on IRC is apparently insane at Tetris Attack and is asking if you have a high score or if you only do VS.

I solo G-rank Monster Hunter (Tri G). More bizarrely, I have pretty much memorized Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, to the point where every playthrough is done in about 2 hours. I've probably played that game about 50 times.

Aw man, really? I've always considered Amazing Mirror the hardest Kirby game there is. Looks like you've got it on its knees, though.Leeroh Zenon wrote:I solo G-rank Monster Hunter (Tri G). Have you 100%'d it in one of those 2 hour playthroughs?

Re: Bragging time: what games do you kick ass at?
Mario Kart, at least in terms of time trials and online play. Wario Land (especially 4), which I've thoroughly beaten on Super Hard mode. Probably Mario games in general to be honest, I've pretty much blasted through each and every one I've played in every genre without too much hassle.
Which should probably give people an indication about how much harder Mario fan games and hacks are than the original series. Given that I'm merely fairly competent at ROM hacks and 'not particularly good' at fan games.

I'm good at:
Risk of Rain (How about you try an Artifact-of-Glass-Solo-Commando-Monsoon-Run without dying)
Metroid (2D ones)
League of Legends (only as Supporter)
Jump 'n' Runs in general (especially Super Meat Boy)

I don't exactly kick ass at it, but I'm pretty okay at Beatmania IIDX. I'm gonna have the chance to play it publically on an actual arcade cabinet in the UK very soon, so I'll see if I can find someone better than me (most likely).

Re: Bragging time: what games do you kick ass at?
It's been over a year since I played last, but I was able to max the score on Endless mode in ~10 minutes and score just under 20000 on Time Trial (the Vs. one, haven't really played the single player one because fuck the dark blue blocks).Bwarch wrote:Starfire on IRC is apparently insane at Tetris Attack and is asking if you have a high score or if you only do VS.

Re: Bragging time: what games do you kick ass at?
I generally don't go for 100%. Usually I try for speed. One important condition I use is never summoning the allies, ever. This makes the final boss very long and painful, but so be it. I should try a 100% run one of these times, though ;)Ivy wrote:Aw man, really? I've always considered Amazing Mirror the hardest Kirby game there is. It would be quite the task to figure out the most efficient way to gather all the treasures.Leeroh Zenon wrote: I generally don't go for 100%. Usually I try for speed.
