La-Mulana 2 Kickstarter

Post by Alice »

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pla ... -mulana-2/

Nigoro has started up a Kickstarter for La-Mulana 2. I think this would interest a few people here. (Iso hopefully, I want to see him do an LP of it when it's released.)

I intend on the $55 backer tier myself. Normally I don't think games are worth more than $30-40 at most but this is an exception. Plus it includes the OST for the game which shouldn't be too bad if the first one is anything to go by.

A grid showing what rewards you get for each backing tier: (Amounts in red have limited amounts available.)

I'm really hoping they hit the $2,700,000 stretch goal. Even if the story this time around was somehow atrocious that could easily save it. At the current backed amount though it looks like they're going to hit approximately $1,000,000. Subject to change depending on whether backing slows down or speeds up though.

Oh wow! This makes me happy. Even though I never got very far into the first one. I should go do that.
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

$100 for a physical copy is pretty steep =[

Considering that both games are intended for digital distribution it makes sense. It's not going to be a mass produced physical copy.

I might actually go for the $75 copy myself. I don't need another copy of the first game but I wouldn't mind a copy of the OST at all. The first game had an incredible soundtrack.

I never played the first one but I heard a lot of positive stuff about it... so I'm willing to give this a go. That's if the Kickstarter goes well. Here's hoping!

They've earned around $35,000 in the last 8-9 hours so I doubt they're going to fail to meet the minimum at least. If their current speed keeps up they'll hit around $1,984,000 or so.

Huzzah and such

It's really tempting to go for both physical copies...

I don't think Nigoro will actually need huge amounts of advertising. They're likely to hit their target.

If I was rich I would so do it, but it is hard to justify. Then again once they hit ebay (IF they do) they will be even more crazy. The thing with kickstarter is there is no guarantees though. It's an investment and I don't feel comfortable possibly throwing $150 down the drain (even though I have)

They're only at $89,000/200,000. I don't think they're going to make another $111,000 in the next 31 days. The average pledge is actually at about $47 right now. Triple the price of the game if it's the same price as the first.

I actually hope they can keep up the steam with the pledges coming in. They only have 1,900 pledges so far but at this rate they can hit the top stretch goal if it keeps up this way.

They're at $109,000 already. For just being 2 days in they're going very strong, lol. By Sunday they should easily have the full $200,000 they want and by the time the Kickstarter ends they're going to have most of, if not all, the stretch goals I think. I'm going to predict they get a minimum of the handheld ports stretch goal.

Wow, that is a lot of money. Not even Shantea asked that much. I'm really hoping it will make it to the Wii U, though.

Well I was way off on that prediction. They've only made ~$20,000 since that post. Should easily make the full $200,000 by the time the Kickstarter ends but I'm questioning how many of the stretch goals are actually going to be reached now.

Ah, alright. I'm not entirely sure how Kickstarter goes because this is the first project I've actually bothered backing. That seems like it's going to be significantly less than I was expecting at first then and we may not even hit any of the actual stretch goals.

There's 35 hours left and they're up to $237,000 right now. Looks like they'll end around the $260,000 stretch goal though they may or may not hit that one. They at least got the necessary base funding though.

They reached up to the monster guide level of funding in the end. $266,670 funding in total. The average funding per backer was $51.28 which is insane for a game that's going to go for $15-20.

I want to get all hyped about this but then I remember that I still have nearly all of the first game to play

I still haven't technically beaten the first game because I'm stuck on the last boss. I've seen the end though and have 100%ed the game up to that point so I'm not worried. I'd definitely recommend playing through it or at least watching an LP of it such as Isocitration's.
