I still haven't got any word on it as well. I live in Canada, so maybe people Stateside are getting it first, but I don't know.

talked to another canadian dude about it and he said he hasn't gotten it either

Yes, just got it today. Weird I didn't get an email about it.

Also, one Custom Move left to get in the 3DS game, and that's 100% (other than 10 hours of Smash and 1000 KOs).

I also got my cd today! I'm kind of sad that there isn't any Earthbound track. I guess I should have looked at the tracklist online to not be disapointed about that.

Am I the only one that noticed that Lucas appears to be less "scared of everything" in this trailer than he was in Brawl, and even ended up saving Lucas this time? It's almost like he matured since Brawl, like he did halfway through Mother 3. He almost even looks a bit older, comparing their concept art.

If that's the case, I approve of this and can definitely imagine Itoi doing so too.

Anyway, they also created a Fighter Ballot for other potential fighters. I voted for the Inklings from Splatoon. True, there are so many other characters to choose from, like the Wonderful 101 (via the main seven and a special character), Bayonetta, or even the Ice Climbers, but I felt that the Inklings would be the most likely characters since they have so many gimmicks from their game that would be fun to carry over. Ink-swim takedown, anyone?

As for the characters that are going to be available, Mewtwo wasn't as much of a letdown as I expected. Granted, I had imagined that he'd be the one fighter aware that everyone is really a plasticine trophy and not afraid to exploit that. Still, I suppose "instant aneurysms for everyone" for a Final Smash isn't too bad either, even if he has to mega-evolve first. Meanwhile, I'm really hoping Lucas gets to summon the Dark Dragon for his Final Smash. That would be so awesome.

Finally, the Mii costumes. While I can see some of them just being there, I really like the design of the SSB Tee and the fact that there are Protoman and X costumes. Those are going at the very top of my DLC shopping list. Also, it's pretty cute that the Monkey Swordfighters use sticks.

Well then, looking forward to getting my Smash DLC on soon!

Personally, I voted for Shovel Knight for multiple reasons, one of which being that Shovel Knight would be PERFECT for Smash.

Lessee, there's Waluigi, Rayman, Inklings, Shovel Knight, Shantae... ah frick, can I just vote for multiple characters or something?

Also the characters that are most likely going to come out of this poll thing (if any) are going to be the ones that are the closest associated with nintendo, so Waluigi is a good bet (apparently there's a Lanky movement as well because epic meme). I'm probably voting Shantae, though my unrealistic vote would be Marina from mischief makers

Waluigi would be a godsend, not to mention Lanky but more likely Dixie.

I answered this in another thread already, but I went with Isaac from Golden Sun. They have the character model in the game, and the game could some more in-house Nintendo handheld love. I would've gone with Lyn if Fire Emblem wasn't already highly represented or Dixie Kong even if I wasn't doing handheld stuff.

I think Ridley and Shantae are going to be the highest vote-getters for the male and female character polls, respectively.

Threw in all my support for Flower Fairy Lip as soon as I heard about the ballot. I don't think she's likely in the slightest, but she would be the coolest thing ever to me and I want to at least try.

It's not just WayForward getting in on it either. Several gaming companies are throwing in their lot.

-Phil Spencer, head honcho of the XBox, said he'd be quite okay with Banjo & Kazooie getting in (a huge surprise given they're in competition with Nintendo and have kept the bear and bird to themselves after buying out Rare years ago)
-Konami, despite Hideo Kojima having quit, has expressed interest in Snake rejoining the fight
-as stated before, WayForward quickly caught notice of the huge reaction from their fans and are pulling for Shantae
-various other indie developers and their fans are rooting for their own popular creations, such as Meat Boy, Shovel Knight and Quote

Nintendo also confirmed that third-party characters are eligible for the ballot, so all of these have good chances at becoming a fighter. Getting their characters in would be a holy grail of exposure, and Nintendo willing to go that extra mile shows how much they care about the game.

because of a silly joke (though I actually put real effort into the explanation field), but I'm honestly betting on Shantae. She's been on Nintendo systems as far back as the Game Boy Color, and her series has been picking up popularity like mad since WayForward was able to go with digital downloads. Getting her into the Smash roster would be absolutely huge for the company.
