Alright, I marathoned Korra season 1 with my siblings, found my missing copy of Smash, and got a good night's sleep.
I am ready to smash some bros! I'M REALLY FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFEEELING IT!
...As soon as I eat a 1:30 breakfast.
Meet me online at the top of the hour if you wanna get

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
Nice.
I just tried a Classic 9.0 with Kirby (stone cheeses everything, lol) for the 9.0 w/o customisations challenge and it went kinda well... until Round 3 was an 8-player match on Yoshi's Island. Okay, no big deal, I continued there, I can try again later. Then things went sort of smoothly - Fighting Mii Team almost caused another loss, though - until Master Core. I have no freaking idea how any of his forms work, despite beating the Sword and Beast forms before somehow. x.x
Probably missing something about how Master Core's tells work.

If Mario has taught me anything, it's that most things rely on whether there's something good in a nearby box.

I haven't even thought about trying that yet. Just seems a bit beyond my level of skill.
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
I beat Classic mode on 9.0 on the 3DS version fairly easily... but the Wii U version seems much more difficult. And I don't just say that because of the extended final boss, either.

I really need some bros other then my bro to smash.
If anyone wants to coordinate a time to do some 1v1s with me, that'd be fantastic. (CST time here)

There really should've been some sort of invite feature.

I would absolutely love to do some matches and I'm in the same timezone! I've been looking for some playmates myself, and I'm generally very happy doing 1v1s. We should play some time!TheFinalSentinel wrote:I really need some bros other then my bro to smash.

Well my NNID is in the Gaming ID thread, and I'd be good for a couple quick matches in about 15 mins.Kapus wrote:I would absolutely love to do some matches and I'm in the same timezone! Well, I didn't mean right away (as evidenced by my late response, haha), but I'll be sure to grab your NNID when I can so we can play soon!TheFinalSentinel wrote:Well my NNID is in the Gaming ID thread, and I'd be good for a couple quick matches in about 15 mins.

I finally beat All-Star mode with every character in Smash Bros. 3DS!
I can't wait to do it all over again in Smash Bros. Wii U, OH MAN!!!! Seriously though, having to do this in both games is the worst thing.

AFAIK you have to do it in hard mode in the WII U version, so good luck with that. I used my hammer on this one.skyluigi2 wrote:I finally beat All-Star mode with every character in Smash Bros. 3DS!

You have to do it on hard mode as everyone?! That's... that's just insane. I haven't used any hammers yet, but at least now I know where I'll be using one of them.FluffiMasta wrote:AFAIK you have to do it in hard mode in the WII U version, so good luck with that. I used my hammer on this one.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
We should totally put together a Talkhaus Smash tourney and watch as it quite possibly ends up falling apart.
Both singles and doubles.
My cravings are not yet satisfied.
P.S. I may or may not be leaving my Wii U on an online waiting room for anyone who may or may not join at any given moment as I watch the spood urns marathon.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
smaaaaaaaaaash
Despite getting the WiiU version for Christmas, I... really haven't played it that much outside of the following week when my brother was still present, an evening with friends around my birthday, and a little bit of poking around the 1-player stuff otherwise... I've already gotten so far on the 3DS version that I'd rather complete it than start over from scratch : x
For that matter, I'm getting really close to having all the custom specials on the 3DS version. Only about 15 left to go, but of course it's an ordeal for obvious reasons. Haven't spent a whole lot of time actually making custom sets, but still... It's also extremely unsatisfying to die unfairly to Master Core, only to destroy it while hardly taking a hit on the retry. I can't even put it into words. A few weeks ago I managed to beat 9.0 Classic on the 3DS; after about three tries with Shulk to no avail, I switched to a customized Ike and just kind of destroyed everything. Apparently having a wind move (Tempest) works wonders against the AI, and Smash Counter is perfect against Master Core. Haven't experienced Master Fortress yet because I haven't been playing WiiU.
Also the Home-button abuse appears to not work on the WiiU (that is, there's a delay before the Home button will register again so you can't frame-by-frame it), so I highly doubt I'll be aiming to get all the customs and stuff on that version, unless Crazy Orders is as good as people say for getting customs. Be easier to just transfer my 3DS sets over and use those.
As disappointed as I am that Ganondorf kept his previous moveset for this iteration, I do have to admit that he really feels powerful now (plus having armor on Warlock Punch is great); it only takes a handful of hits to earn a KO. But I've seen it suggested multiple times elsewhere that Ganondorf's old moveset should have been given to Black Shadow (from F-Zero) and Ganondorf could have gotten a new moveset. I agree that that would probably have been brilliant.
I would also be super-interested in a Talkhaus tournament of some kind, or even just an evening of smashing together (although I don't know how big of an issue timezones may be).

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
That'd be tough for me to do now that school is in session. It'd rely on the grace of having the free time to do it and the floor Wii U being both open and actually out in the lounge, seeing as it's someone's Wii U (i.e. not mine).
I'd love to if it can all pan out.
