Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: NO ITEMS, FINAL DES--PRESENTATION!
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
The Kirby technique is pretty good.
What with staying on the edge and all.

Sometimes it's easier to let go than go on.
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
Some people like doing that hang and drop off the right ledge, fall to the left, and Up+B your way back up while inflicting minimal damage. For me with that Lucina one (two if you haven't managed to get 8 KOs yet) is to get used to timing that Down+B Counter move. If you can get all the Miis on one side of the screen, you can slowly advance and keep knocking them back with side smash attacks. Just don't rush because those Mii Gunners have range.
It took me about five to ten minutes of retrying once I started the strategy to get eight Miis downed in about 20 seconds on the timer. Again, you have to counter and hold a side of the screen. The other thing I'll say is that Miis won't walk at you if you're charging up your smash attacks, so go for uncharged ones. You just really have to knock them off the field since their recovery is pretty garbage.

Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
Yes, I did it!
I jumped off the left side, hanged on the edge, rolled up and immediately prssed B+Down, 5 Kills. I simply killed the rest by dodging and countering.
I'm glad that I got all the Cruel Smash challenges now.
Next up, 20 Crazy Orders with Mario! This energy-sucker badge will sure come in handy!

Hungry, Hungry Kirby is outright diabolical.
That is all.
That is all.
If Mario has taught me anything, it's that most things rely on whether there's something good in a nearby box.

You just gotta get lucky with the food128-Up wrote:Hungry, Hungry Kirby is outright diabolical.

had 3 items that reduce your % by 15 in a row.
Also, try to pause, then scan the stage for food items and quickly grab them.

It took me like 3 tries on hard. It's not that bad.128-Up wrote:Hungry, Hungry Kirby is outright diabolical.

Also to make it easier you can copy Dedede's power, when you eat food with Dedede's power you get more health.

Anyone tried the co-op events yet? Some of those are just as bad (if not worse) than the single player ones. There's one where you play as Palutena and Ganondorf and have to beat a tonne of Mr. Game & Watches. Except the last four are huge... and the last two are huge AND metal. Basically one smash attack and you're dead. It's pretty crazy. Who designed these things?!

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
That's basically the one I had in mind when explaining the cheezing strat the other day. The only way we could beat this one was by standing super close to the edge of the stage and hope they come close enough by themselves, so that we can grab them and directly throw them into the death border. Good thing the stage is appropriate for this because I don't think we would have beat it if it wasn't a pitless stage.skyluigi2 wrote:Anyone tried the co-op events yet? The one with the 2 huge marth and lucina "statues" was kind of the same thing also. So many retries on these two events alone
Also wtf is wrong with all-star on this version. Every enemy is supposed to be super powered down and you cannot really die before getting to like 250-300% depending on your character, EXCEPT for some stupid reason when you get hit by projectile attacks. They seem to be broken and aren't affected by this global enemy debuff. So it's like, you can get hit by smash attacks or even little mac's KO punch and barely even get lifted from the ground, but if you get hit by Samus' neutral B or Dedede's gordos, it's going to kill you before you even are at 100% damage. It's super weird, especially when the 3DS version didn't have this and was a complete walk in the park.
I guess to compensate is the fact that classic mode is easier on the WiiU version since your partner during 2-on-2s is actually decent and you can avoid this type of match altogether
e : also I didn't find the kirby event hard at all you just have to avoid the Dededes and since they are super slow it's pretty easy
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
Yeah, that's basically what we figured out. That's probably the only reason they picked that stage too. Though when we actually managed to beat it, I'm pretty sure at least one of the giant Mr. Game & Watches literally just walked off the edge. I swear, if they're not occupied attacking Palutena/Ganondorf, they just walk straight off the side. Don't know if that happened to anyone else, but... I shouldn't complain, I guess. Made things much easier.Jesuiscontent wrote:That's basically the one I had in mind when explaining the cheezing strat the other day. In that mission where you have to only kill Marth and leave Peach and Zelda alone Marth kinda stayed on the ground and couldn't get up, resulting in a 13 seconds victory ... that was hilarious.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
I haven't actually tried any of the single player events yet... I should change that. Surely they can't be any harder than some of the co-op ones, right? Uh... right?
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
Some are pretty brutal. That Kirby one is the last one I need for reward unlocks. I beat it on easy, but you have to go from 100% damage to 0% to win... and the last reward is to do that on hard mode. Yikes.

Ugh, why is 9.0 so freaking hard?
Event mode is a breeze compared to that.

So is there like any good strategy at all for perfecting target blast stage 2? As it is I'm finding it harder than classic 9.0. Not that I can beat master core or whatever on 9.0 either, mind you, but continuing to play target blast is much more painful.

Any idea how to fill the fever gauge in Trophy Rush 8 times with Dr Mario without using the Beam Sword?
I almost got no Gold left after so many trys.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
When you're in fever wait until you have a bunch of coins/trophies all over the screen but wait until the gauge is completely empty before clearing them all with an up-smash or something. It should fill half of the bar with this alone. Also try to optimize the yellow star boxes, don't hit them when you're already in fever or when the gauge is above 80%FluffiMasta wrote:Any idea how to fill the fever gauge in Trophy Rush 8 times with Dr Mario without using the Beam Sword?

Another thing, you can prevent all the thunder balls things from spawning. They only appear if you stay at the same place more than 3-4 seconds so try to keep moving all the time. This is usually overlooked but these thunder things make you lose a lot of time and don't fill the gauge if they destroy stuff (except yellow star boxes)
This challenge only took me 2 tries but admittedly I had a lot of practice from the 3DS version
e : also why on earth would you want to use the sword

So, I'm home, back with my Wii U finally. :D
I'm super hyped to play more Smash, so bring it on collective Talkhaus. I'm ready for you!
...as soon as I'm finished binging Korra with my siblings. Korra comes first.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: SETTLE IT IN TALKHAUS!
I'm down to one challenge left unrevealed on the checklist, problem being it's between 9.0 without customizations, 9.0 wthout dying, and 50000 blocks in trophy rush. And I'm pretty sure I need to not be spending any gold on trophy rush until I get to 300k for some other challenge, but there seems to be a law against me beating master core on 9.0. 8.5's fine apparently, I've done that with most of the cast of Fire Emblem at this point (didn't even die as Lucina, in fact), but 9.0? Nope, not allowed.
Huh. I actually got it a couple days ago (I forget how exactly), but that's rather silly.Bean wrote:Yes.Zyglrox Odyssey wrote:So is there like any good strategy at all for perfecting target blast stage 2? Heh, I'm in the exact same situation right now, Zygl.
I'm not really sure if you need 300000 Gold in total or as "spending cash" so to speak, but I would think that it's the former, because saving up so much Gold is a real pain.

You get the challenge when your gold balance is 300k so you do have to save it
