Kirby, only Kirby, and nothing but Kirby.
This would change if Shulk gets announced, though.

I usually play as Yoshi for his ever-abusable aerial down-A dance and super-high double jump, though in the past I usually preferred Link for the challenge. Given my playthrough of the demo at the Smash-Fest a couple weeks back, I may also try to learn more of Mega Man's strengths and weaknesses (namely, how difficult he is to control).

Peach is literally the best character in Brawl for boss battles.
There had better be some fun boss battles in SSB4

Why do you think that she is the best character for boss battles (not an offence)Snakebite969 wrote:Peach is literally the best character in Brawl for boss battles.

Imo Fox is the best character for Smash Boss as you can spam his laser in the distance, you can easily avoid the boss with his fast speed and his illusion and you can send back projectile with his reflector.

Not many bosses have reflectable projectiles.
Though I gotta admit, his illusion is awesome for dodging.

Definitely have no idea which character I'll be playing as. It's not like my name or avatar are in any way related to the topic at hand.

Late To The Party reactions:
Palutena! Probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone.
Miis!! Super-hyped for them, actually. It probably really helps that I have a few personal characters that perfectly fit the three roles.
Pac-Ma-......oh
well
I was hoping SO hard for a Tales Of Symphonia character, you have no idea how much I was wishing for that to happen (considering Namco's developing the game). There's no way Namco'd be able to have a second third-party character in there, so I guess that's that. such disappoint, much sad
Kinda disappointed about the custom movesets too, with them just being 'pre-determined variations of the same specials'... though I guess it'd actually be WAY too much to hope for having actual totally-customizable movesets, so I shouldn't be surprised really.
So here's a quick amateur-hour analysis of the characters so far:
So... yeah. Stuff. Don't know if we should expect any more newcomers or not? There was that "supposed leak" at some point 'revealing' Pac-Man, choir boys from Rhythm Heaven, and Shulk... While I'd love to see Xenoblade representation, I feel like Shulk's niche as a speedy swordguy is already pretty covered by other characters.
If I had one wish, it'd be either a Tales Of Symphonia or Castlevania representation (preferably Shanoa for the latter, though Palutena probably already fills her 'cool magical girl' niche).
...Also when Brawl was in the works, I tried to avoid as many spoilers as I could, to little avail because pretty much everything got spoiled before the game was released. I haven't really bothered this time because it's pretty inevitable that if something's revealed, I'll hear of it. But it'd still be nice if they leave a little bit of secrecy until after the game's released. Who knows.
As for characters I want to play... well, everyone really. But all of the newcomers especially.

I want a ganondorf that's unique and possibly uses a sword/trident. I mean heck almost every game sans the first ganondorf has used some sort of weapon. (I think?)

If Ganondorf even comes back... if any character needs a major buff, it's that one. If Lucario was mid tier and got a buff you can expect Ganondorf to get tweaked quite a bit.
Though it would have been nice to see Sonic's moveset tweaked as well..

The leak of Shulk, Chrom, and Chorus Men is more or less completely confirmed true in my mind. The leaker has had 100% accuracy across 8 accounts and a Rhythm Heaven based enemy was found in Smash Run, almost completely verifying Chorus Men. Given that I seriously doubt that the last two are wrong.

I hear Ridley's sneaking into Smash.
Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: WARNING! NEW THREAD APPROACHING!
Man I really hope Lucas get's in. He was my number 1 pick of the 4 characters I would like to play, over Toon Link, Lucario, and Mario. I'm actually a little nervous he might get in, being a clone, but I prefer him kilometers over Ness.
If Ganondorf does make it in, I expect him to get a completely new moveset, since he is a heavy clone of Captain Falcon.
I'm glad I'll be able to fight as my Mii. I think I'll choose the gunner.

Look at what this lil' shit made

It's beautiful and an amazing idea and it's completely fake. From a parody Sakurai account.

Never pass up an opportunity to use this
although this works too
Though even just looking at the screenshot... Mario doesn't use a hammer for any of his attacks in Smash Bros, so that kinda makes it an obvious fake. That is, more obvious than... yeah. I don't deny it would be really cool though! But I think it'd be asking an awful lot to do something of that scale for just a single stage.

I wouldn't be surprised to see both Ness and Lucas returning, since while their specials are similar, the rest of their movesets are almost completely different (likewise with Fox/Wolf). Although, as much as I think Ness is a neat character, Lucas honestly felt like "Ness except better" in Brawl...Sebby19 wrote:Man I really hope Lucas gets in[...]

Also they have to do SOMETHING to make an impression on gamers and keep people buying Smash as much as they have. Not that the work thus far isn't impressive, but to go above and beyond would be a nice gesture and would get people to say "Wow I NEED this Smash even though I have the other three games with the same gameplay."
And since they yanked out cutscenes and therefore downgraded YEAH.
COULD USE SOMETHING PRETTY AMAZING.

That is a fair point.
UNLESS it's all a ploy and there actually will be and it's just being kept ultra-hidden, but that's not terribly likely >_>

Man the stupidest crap is that I haven't even watched or looked for the leaked cutscenes since I wanted the experience and not just the cutscenes.
And nobody I know in the RL even KNOWS about them usually.
But NOPE. "Gamers saw them, not worth putting in, the sanctity of the cutscene has been ruined so why put them in lol" - Sakurai.

Okay so it's not even that there are leaked cutscenes Sakurai just didn't like that the cutscenes from Brawl were uploaded to Youtube.
Dude.

That is correct; it's pretty childish...
Not that the character introduction videos aren't awesome on their own, but yeah.

Most fun I've had with coop in a loooong time. It wasn't the GREATEST thing ever on the gameplay side (A few of the minion enemies really could've done with less health), but the coop element and the cinematics really made it special.
