It's the Omega Principle*. When two incredibly powerful monsters are at least represented by a more powerful form of a third monster, and at most actually merge together to BECOME said third monster, it tends to result in a humanoid being.

It's because humans are the pinnacle species for our planet, and we haven't had contact with pinnacle species' from other planets to disprove that.

Alternative? It's already kind of a historical thing that almighty beings are associated with being vaguely human shaped

grubbin's good

also zygarde's cell and core formes are good, not too much of a fan of the 10% and complete ones, the dog seems like a really weird intermediate form to have and the humanoid is overall far less interesting than the original zygarde

We have humanoid Zygarde so that we can draw lots and lots of porn of it with massive six-packs and huge breasts that Nintendo will inevitably ignore while it simultaneously helps keep people interested in their series, of course.
I regularly stream on Twitch! with other members of the talkhaus. Come watch Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 2PM for blind playthroughs and Pokémon and Touhou and stuff. Come hang out with us!

Like all of the other variants of the Pokemon they've been showing off are cool and all.
Specifically Vuplix and Ninetales, those are some wonderful Fire/Fairy type things or whatever they're supposed to be. They're remarkably adorable!

But Exeggutor needs to stop it.
Why didn't they just make it look like a palm tree instead of a coconut tree if they wanted it to make sense for the Alola Region? To be specific, a palm tree that isn't the size of Ghidorah.

I guess to each their own. If I can find something nice to say is that it makes Exeggcutor stand out more.
I kind of forgot it existed in Gen 1, but man, NOW I definitely know that Exeggcutor is a thing. A big thing.

WAIT THEY ARE??

Alright, you know what. You're right here and that changes my opinion on Alola Exeggcutor a little bit. I plead ignorance on the statement I made earlier about this tree. I guess I still didn't wish it was so insurmountably tall, but it does make a lot more sense now. Thank you for pointing this out.

Regardless of the specifics, there's no arguing it's a goofy friggin' creature.

I'm currently busy laughing that Alolan Meowth is getting flak from people when yet another Tumblrbait dog for people to eat up was just shown and obviously people love it.

Alolan Meowth looks like the physical embodiment of sass and I love it

Actually I think I'm liking most of these Alolan forms better than their original forms, and that's saying a lot with Vulpix and Ninetales

Alolan Sandshrew looks like it's wearing an igloo, and Alolan Raichu is using its own tail as a surfboard. These are super cute.

Also, that Team Skull admin mentioned the grunts being her brothers and sisters... I'm willing to bet she just holds them that close to her heart.

And I saw at least one YouTube comment compare Guzma to Rick.

I haven't actually heard much ridicule towards Alolan Meowth? Maybe I'm just in very odd circles for Pokemon.
The recent batches of Pokemon have been pretty great, I think. Especially Alolan Raichu. That thing is awesome.

Speaking of Alolan Raichu, one in-universe theory for how it became part Psychic-type is that it ate too many pancakes.

No, I'm not kidding.

Also, who here encountered a Pikachu as their first wild encounter in LeafGreen's Viridian Forest? Besides me, of course. (Yep, that really happened to me.)
