Re: What games are you playing?
Final Fantasy X (International) - Main story complete. It is still one of the games of all time, and the only reason it's not my fave FF is that it's sharing the spot with IX, V and VIII.
Lady Gaga x Flying Battery gave me luck (also Stoneproof + Zombie Ward armor, and completing everyone's sphere grid sections and Yuna's Holy, and using the Aeons as meat shields more efficiently but)
Prepping for post game on and off now, and I guess I'm gonna try to finish my FF6 replay. All the FFs

Final Fantasy VI - Terra, Shadow, Relm, Strago, Mog, Umaro, Locke get.
Got the Ragnarok esper (i dont need the sword even if it's strong unless i suddenly get the missable brainworms disease), killed DoomGaze/Deathgaze for Bahamut and am learning magic with most of the cast before doing Hidon.
Also beat the Ice Dragon by accident. Also I'm afflicted with Umaro brainrot. He is baby
(sorry for the lateness i was drawing giant wolverine and beast just vibing because this is my life now. im a trainwreck)

And in MLB 2001, the Seattle Mariners do what they've never done in real life to this point and won the World Series. It's glitchy, but for the time, it's still a perfectly passable baseball game. I'd give it a thumb sort of pointed up but not all the way. One of those halfhearted ones where you just say, "Sure. That was all right. You did it," and leave it at that.

didn't play Final Fantasy VI yesterday bc my tension got really high (i was finishing two drawings i started AGES ago, maybe that was why?) and i just had a whole ass headache that's lasted until now.
it's toning down now that i took half of one of my mom's (i think it's my mom's?) tension pills, with her knowledge, which is good but. fuck
at least i finally finished uploading slop to furaffinity and bsky

Re: What games are you playing?
Didn't really do much in terms of games this weekend except for Vib-Ribbon. I went through the game's songs, all the CDs I have (like all 9 of them), and then the game's songs again to end it all off.
Vib-Ribbon is such a cool game. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the music in it, Overflowing Emotions is my favorite one! The game is fun too, something so satisfying about it. And it was nice going through some albums I haven't listened to in a while. I had a fun time with it, even if some of it made me gamer rage a bit but y'know.
Gonna end this one off with a fun challenge for you guys, if maybe you're just bored one day and want something to do. If you own Vib-Ribbon (or have... y'know another way to play it), play the Weird Al song "Trapped in the Drive-Thru" and tell me how far you can get in one attempt. I got to the part where he turns on the radio on my first attempt, and beat the whole song on my second! You get bonus points if you play it off of an actual Straight Outta Lynwood CD like I did :3
Anyways that's all from me for now sooooo bye bye!

Re: What games are you playing?
WELL ig the next game I'm gonna try to beat is LittleBigPlanet. Got through all of the Savannah area yesterday, as well as doing the first level of the Wedding area. I've decided my main goal is to beat all the levels without dying if I can, some levels only end when you die so y'know not those ones. I WAS gonna get all the collectibles too but... well, some of them in just the second level were a pain in the ass to get AND some of them require multiplayer which uhh yeah
As for my opinion on the game so far IT IS SO GOOD!!! Just has immaculate vibes. And the platforming itself feels very weird but in a good way. Plus the little sackthings are silly and it's fun to play around with the costumes for them. It's kinda sad I can't play any user levels anymore BUT I do want to try and make some of my own because it seems like I'm still able to do that? Just wanna get a feel for what the level creator is like and maybe how levels would've felt back in the day.
That's all I wanna say for now. Bye!

Re: What games are you playing?
Final Fantasy VI - Done. Endboss was pretty fun since I pulled my punches until the top tier (sonic.exe laugh man). Rest/Sleep on the Third Tier was super deranged.
Extremely good game but, I'm sorry 5, 9 and 10 just out do it for me. Sorry for party rocking
Pretty much everything done outside of maxing out all ability lists (including magic ugh), getting every unique item in the Coliseum and uncursing the shield. Actually did the Wounded Soldier miniquest this time, but. I never got to go back for the Exp.Egg after unlocking it in Daryl's Tomb. oopsie
Cefca more like Ssefssa
Pondering on doing FF7 replay next, Fallout 1 or Wild Arms 3. It's an either or scenario, they're all pretty good. (EDIT like half an hour later: im sorry i think im gonna do funny clod and sepirut game. im so sorry to fallout, wild arms 3 and legend of heroes 1's win 95 port)

Final Fantasy VII - First off:
HOLY SHIT I FORGOT
Secondly, everything from Corel Prison to first getting the Tiny Bronco done. Vincent recruited, rest assured. About to do the 8th Fort Condor battle (they're fun to me), Wutai, getting Aerith's Great Gospel and getting Kujata.
I don't think I'm gonna be able to get Barret date :( Forgot to tank Tifa and Aerith's affection value in Gongaga

jesus chrsitbover's walkthrough wrote:A question arises in a Perfect Game: when can this sidequest be considered complete? In a Perfect Game, you'll need 100 total Great Gospels (1 to teach Aeris the Limit, 99 for your inventory), so get them first. Once that's taken care of, take the Gold Armlet, closing out the quest. Make sure to get another Mythril for inventory purposes though.

Re: What games are you playing?
yeah us gamer nerds in 2000 really had nothing better to do (that same guide is why I stopped caring about 100% achievements in other RPGs, it's just too odious)
Age of Empires - I decided not to go through with the "The Siege in Canaan" scenario of the Ascent of Egypt campaign, as it's just... siege warfare, which I'm simultaneously not very good at and way too good at (either I attack way too early to punch through and end up with no military units left for guarding my shit or I massively overprepare and steamroll. There's... really no in-between). So now I'm working on the Glory of Greece campaign.

Re: What games are you playing?
you mean challenge? but yeah i have seen yk complain about people who go for perfect games and like. between this and even just going for all missables being an actual nightmare half of the time i just. dont bother and stick to as many sidequests i can do (ideally all of em but, some games don't have much info cough cough zenonia). even in tales games i just avoid going for too much beyond superbosses bc tales sidequests are Especially Vile.
i wish all "rpg fans" a very "all people with ocd who care about missables suddenly lose all compulsion to care about getting all missables in a game"
Final Fantasy VII - I restarted for Barret date. I'm at the Junon area, 1 Fort Condor battle done, the two Turtle's Paradise posters in Midgar read and Yuffers recruited. Fast forward is a godsend.
I should be back to where I was in a day or two, not accounting for offdays due to psychic damage or whatnot, even without fast forward the game goes by pretty briskly, I was at like 25 hours at Rocket Town last time, so if I were to just do the main story, I'd probably be done at like 45 hours in game, which for a schoolkid playing in the 90s, should come down to a week, ergo, 4 weekends. College kids may have had a bit more time.
Wish bover's guide more plainly pointed out the date event affecting selection moments in the main walkthrough, instead of the minigames section, but I guess that's out of its scope? Props to the guy for making HTML guides for a few FF games, the txt walkthroughs are usually stupid good even with their. Choice GameFAQs(tm) Wordsmithing. But HTML ones soothe my organizational autism pretty well.
Them referring to the Warring Triad as all women in the FF6 walkthrough (SNES at least) is really funny tho, but. As a man enjoyer, you wom lovers do need more fucked up monster bitches similar to Fiend and Demon. Lord knows I like crushing on Diamond Weapon despite its few sickos headcanoning it as a gal.

Final Fantasy VII - Disc 2 (two!!!)
Just got the Highwind, gonna do some minor sidequests and unlock Tifa's limit breaks before Mideel and the Huge Materia questline (and Cloud's therapy session).
Playing it again, I'm not feeling this game as much as FFX and V and I think part of it is the story being harder to get a grip on. Evangelion has that same issue for me, I liked End of Eva much more due to it.
*voice of someone who has only played ff4 and ff6* CLEARLY this means FF died after 6

Re: What games are you playing?
It's been ages since I logged in last. I haven't been up to too much in the world of vidjagames, but... here.
Tales of Berseria: This is the second Tales game I've finished (the first being Vesperia) and I definitely liked this one a lot more. It's been years since I played Vesperia, but I seem to recall my major problem with the game is that it went on for so long. It just dragged. While Berseria didn't really do that. I also liked the characters a lot more too. Anyway, I was grinding up Grade for NG+ achievement cleanup and to breeze through the game to accomplish that as well as doing the bonus dungeon. Not going to go for 100% achievements right now, primarily because I just played through most of the game and there are some OBSCENELY grindy achievements.
Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster: I played the NES version of FF2 almost a decade ago and now here I am playing this version. I know there was a bit of controversy with it not including Soul of Rebirth from the PSP version (I think? I don't actually know. Maybe it was the GBA version) but as I've never actually played that mode it's not a huge deal to me personally. I've always liked just how odd FF2 is compared to its immediate predecessor and successors. Its goofy leveling system (that would be refined for SaGa); the major downer plot; the flat characters, yet less flat than in FF1. It's a weird game, and I like weird games. ANYWAY! I had just finished retaking Fynn and needed to grab the White Mask from the basement of Castle Fynn. I accidentally got the Black Mask from the Tropical Island earlier on.
And my brother and I have been playing Star Wars The Old Republic together again, with him this time playing the Agent story and I playing the Bounty Hunter story. We're on Corellia, and almost done. Which is a good thing, because while most of the Agent story is good, the last bit of it just falls apart. And the Bounty Hunter story stops being interesting after the great hunt is over.

i did the 19th non-mandatory (14th and last of the ones i do) fort condor battle in final fantasy vii and i was just unlocking some limit breaks but then the brain damage to draw *avengers in galactic storm voice* Giant Man struck and i had to stop at unlocking all of tifa's which is still something.

Final Fantasy VII - All non Lv4 Limit Breaks unlocked so far, got a decent chunk of the Enemy Skills with the four ES Materia bc Blue Magic is fun (FF6, 10 and 14 do them dirty though), and did the Pagoda sidequest. Past Mideel and doing the Corel Huge Materia quest first.
I feel like I should put Barret in the party but, I guess it doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

why would you do captain marshmallow dirty like that, leaving him out of getting closure over his mistakes like that.
Poking around with randomizers that are part of archipelago and somehow there's Wario Land 1 in development for it so of course I have to throw hands at that.
Pokemon Emerald Legacy: And this is where I need a map. Not to find where I'm going, but to make sure no trainers are left out (Post Tate&Liza Cleanup before heading to Seafloor Cavern).
Age of Empires: Up to mission 3 of Glory of Greece (the one where you have to break out of Yellow Team's base and find the gaea fortress along the southern corner just to go back north and wreck Yellow Team's base) and wow they do not pull any punches. At this point I'm pretty sure going up through red team will be easier than trying to go through brown team, simply because red team is closer to the original egress point. That and red team is susceptible to a naval rout where brown is not, and I do a lot better when I can flex my dock (it turns out having a military that's largely built out of wood is a good thing when you're drowning in trees).
