idk i played it and. maybe i'm fucking stupid but they seem really tough even for a puzzle platformer

then again it's a nintendo power era snes game and those games seem to take advantage of how niche the snes was at the time comparatively and thus go apeshit with design

Ys 3 (PC88) - Started it for fun so I can have all the original PC88/98 versions on my backloggery. Levelling up a bit at the Lava Pit after the funny haha sparta kick from Chester. Ellefale is really funny because her original 2D version makes you have to time a specific sword swipe at her for maximum damage otherwise the damage output won't be ideal and you risk fucking up if your health + your backup Herb isn't enough to take her down.

I might be up a bit longer so I'm gonna play Heroes Lore: Winds of Soltia. It has three stories but they're all very short and they tend to criss cross. Similar to how SaGa does it on post-Frontier games, Romancing 1 and 3 were more of a case of pick your player character and the others are just roaming about. The short length makes sense since it's a feature phone game.

Heroes Lore - Damn this bitch be grindy. I kinda get it since it's very clearly descended from K-MMOs like Ragnarok, and like, classic Ys. But I think this is the sort of stuff that made pholtos fucking hate Zenonia. Thankfully I'm Immune

Temple of Fire quest done, got the Guardian of Fire Rocky (X-Dragoon ass name. or like an old internet v-pet Darkrai I had once), and the early sidequests at Basto done. Grinding a bit more before heading to Locus.

Again, I kinda dont mind the RPG Maker 2000 Action RPG-style of tile based gameplay, but considering Ronin's strong attack actually does a sweep across several tiles instead of just the tile in front of him, it already has an edge on a lot of old western RPG Maker games, as cutely kitsch as they can be.

Then again, doing complex ARPG hitboxes in RM2k/2k3 can be annoying, I had to use Yado's guide for mine, and be it kinda basic, it's at least enjoyable to play with so.

MMMerge - Hive cleared out, so now I'm officially in the "back half" of the game (still need to help the aliens advisors in Erathia and gather the elemental hearts in Jadame)

Monster Hunter tri - Finally got that Lagiacrus set finished, it only took upgrading my qurupeco hammer to max and breaking horns like four times or so. This should last me for most of the game till mid high rank in online later.The rest of playthrough should consists of fighting some of the other monsters found in the later regions and then fighting the "big bad" of the village story quests. The weapons I've got are coming along nicely, they just need a few parts from those later mons like Agnaktor and Barioth. Having a go to fire weapon and a long sword to cut off tails will be nice

Finished off my Final Fantasy 2 Pixel Remaster run. I think the game definitely picks up around the time Mysidia Tower happens. It's just a shame about the back and forth to the home base in this one as it just makes things tedious for too long. Also wound up taking me just over an hour to find a single Iron Giant to take down in the final dungeon for that platinum run. Not sure how much I'll do for the eventual abridged recordings of the Switch version. It's one of those games where it's a bit too experimental while not having the dungeon design and encounter variety to make up for it.

Metroid II: Return of Samus - Played some more, I got the space jump, which took me a bit to get used to and I'm still not ultra consistent doing it, but it's fun. Also got the plasma beam and some extra health and missiles. Exploration is still fairly straightforward, it's open enough to be a challenge, but easy enough for me to be doing this without a map, although it's getting more open as the game goes on.

Wizardry 1 (DOS) - Just levelling up a bit more at B2F before trekking through B3F and B4F. I want to be at around Lv9 or 10 with most of my cast before meeting Trebor. Sadly B5F through B8F are mostly superfluous but they'll be a nice grinding spot until reaching Lv17 (safety strat before Werdna and Wiz II).

Mega Man Battle Network - Got to the Undernet (Internet Area 5 in here), and im honestly just repeatedly beating up GutsMan.EXE to make Zenny so I can properly power up MegaMan. It's slow going.

Commander Keen 1 - Complete, though I will say the controls could be better. I know it was early PC Platforming controls, but, y'know.

Cute game, just a bit too stiff for its own good. I'll keep it up with 2 and 3 soon, I really wanna do 4 and Dreams ^w^

Did some quests in MapleStory (Maple Royals private server) and levelled up a bit in Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst (Ephinea private server). Also downloaded the Project Belos client for La Tale, waiting for the Yogurting Remember page to go back up for Yogurting (yes, i know, terrible name). The last one is a Thai server, with English translations I think, so I hope I dont suffer much ping.

For some reason that's probably because the game plays like a mix of Super Mario 3D World & that recent Sackboy game, my bro picked up The Smurfs - Dreams on sale, and we played through it in co-op. Just under six hours for 100%. It's fine and plays pretty well, just surprised that there are companies still making games for this IP since even the nostalgia/reboot bump is like 5-10 years ago now.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon - Getting the Cleric outfit helped a lot, managed to clear the Mysterious Tower (Maxwell), Devil Island (Gremlin) and Ancient Ruins (Aska).

I'm gonna give Luna on Tower of Twelve Stars a shot before seeing if I should work on outfit Costume Points, for the sake of getting the Priestess outfit for Mel. Also aiming for Thunder Mage and Sorcerer/Sorceress once I'm done, maybe some costumes in the Martial Artist classline. For reference (in JP).

Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst (Ephinea) - Levelled up to Lv12 with my HUcast. Didn't do a full sweep of Cave 2, but I was in the middle of a stress attack and running low on PelorieMates - Monomate, Dimate, Trimate - so...

Government Quests also seem to be party quests that require multiplayer, so I'll just watch those on YouTube if I wish to learn The Lore.

Digimon World - Packed day yesterday, savestates were a big help. Instead of going for Angemon, I went for Biyomon then Birdramon, which were easier to use for me since I had enough long range techs that they could use.

I also managed to evolve Birdramon to Phoenixmon a bit by accident, I was aiming for the stats the Evolution Tool asked me for, but probably having some evos under my belt helped boost it for a quick evo.

I savescummed on Penguinmon (didn't want to be fishing a bunch), but it's a neat minigame. I have only one item left to deliver to the Mojyamon, a Giant Meat, Phoenixmon helped with stopping Ogremon and thus getting Whamon, Garurumon went down alright, had to reload a few times since his AI can be a stunlocking bastard though, and I helped Tyrannomon out with the Meteormon situation, also finding a Nanimon spotting to upgrade my inventory.

I'm gonna be wandering about getting what I can, until I can purchase the Giant Meat or Phoenixmon passes away so I can get the Frigimon recruitment due to baby sicc, the trigger spots in Freezeland weren't activating when I made Phoenixmon sick with Moldy Meat so they may be too strong to pass out. Prosperity at 39 out of 100 (50 required for final dungeon).

MapleStory (MapleRoyals) - Thief class get. The thief training quests are kinda ass, it really feels like Dark Lord is just coming up with excuses to clear up a Stump infestation. The slum vibes of Kerning City don't give me the best of vibes, but at least it doesn't seem to be weird about it.

I do wanna glam up a bit so I can look ninja-y. More Guy from Final Fight or Strider Hiryu or Zeku from Str**t F*ghter F*ve than Naruto though.

Also the ingame notification thing was like "you've played on this private server for 1 hour :)" and I felt so self-conscious, I had to close it after I was done with the quest. I'm really worried I'll develop an addiction, I don't think I have an addictive personality but. Idk dude, anxiety.

Arc the Lad II - Sidequests at Brakia done, though Shotgunnova's FAQ is slightly wrong, the last three jobs in that area show up before even visiting Millmana, you just have to get the bounty to end the quest, then re-enter the Guild.

Regardless, 42 out of 58 Jobs done. Still maining Gruga/Shante/Gogen/Poco/Tosh. I just like playing as either dark skinned guys or burly guys, which Gruga fits both as a overworld sprite, lol

Rayman Origins - I played a few hours of this on my cousin's house, it's such a great game. I've played a lot of both Origins and Legends on my younger cousin's house on their X360, due to the struggling with certain parts of the game, funny enough at another cousin's house, I've been doing the same now, except it's an older cousin (not older than me, just older than the other two) and it's an Xbox One, still doesn't get tiring though. I genuinely consider both games to be some of the best 2D platformers of the modern age, recently the competition has been stirring (which I consider a good thing), but the fact they're phenomenal games even today is telling to just how well designed they are (which is pretty rare coming from Ubisoft, from what I can tell).
