About that card... I still haven't managed to capture it.. That's kind of a problem with MarisaB's power level tho. I might run through the game with Needle Reimu if I can't clear it with Marisa.

Marisa B's power is fine for that card, I capture it pretty much as quickly as I do with A. Within a margin of maybe 2 seconds depending on how far away Kogasa is. The caveat is that you have to focus to get the power out, but unfocused dodging of that card is typically easier since you can go around tight waves instead of through them. There's a good reason why I used to do that card pure unfocused lol

If you want a different shot type to do it with, clear the game with Marisa A. The lasers are practically as powerful as needles considering the piercing, you're already used to Marisa's speed from B so there's no issues there, and Marisa A is arguably the best for the stage itself since the piercing helps immensely when taking out the big faeries in UFO-heavy areas. Range shouldn't be an issue, since to get power out of Marisa B you basically have to be at the same range anyhow. The only card that might give you a LITTLE more trouble is Undefined Darkness simply because if you bomb it you almost might as well die due to the ridiculously slow speed of Master Spark. Otherwise you'll find some cards are significantly easier with Marisa A than any other shot type due to piercing and power (Red UFO can be done in just two waves with Marisa A, faster than any other character).

I'm a pretty casual Touhou player, my achievements aren't great... I never 1CC'd Numver 6 even on easy, I managed to 1cc number 7 on easy, but on normal I can't get past yuyuko and I even have trouble reaching her (I managed to figure out a good portion of Youmu though, which I'm still amazed at how I did it.) I've barely 1cc'd number 8, using the ghost team. I have a hard time clearing even stage 3 on Number 10 for no apparent reason though. In 11 I've only managed to get to stage 6 on easy, with Marisa/patchouli team. As with most people I can't pass stage 5 in 12. But in the end, I managed to clear Route 1-A in 12.8 with only one continue.

Hopefully the new Touhou 13 will suit my level of skill, as ZUN stated that he'll make it easier to fit a wider population.

Wow... Just.. wow.

I had nothing left getting into Green UFO, then I capture that, Danmaku Chimaera for the first time, Undefined Darkness for the first time (second attempt!) then I die at Rainbow UFO halfway through.
I would've even had another life if I hadn't been stupid in the pre-boss part.... Well, it went awesome because of that, I think.

So, I went and got SA, and a friend of mine gave me his save so I can go right to Utsuho. Whatserface's spellcard is a life drainer, despite being such a simple pattern!

Byakuren's... just... too strong...

I've tried for the best part of an hour now, sleep-deprived or not, and I just can't do it... granted I am using ReimuB (cause again most comfortable with her going through the stages), but even when I had 6 bombs and 3 lives I still couldn't do it...

Still, I reached her in 1cc this time! Highlights include capturing her first spell on my first go, and capturing Shou's green laser card with no previous experience of playing against it. I ALMOST had her last card too, but I got clipped right near the end. Oh well, it was definitely a learning experience that's for sure!

When playing Shoot the Bullet or Double Spoiler, I tend to play for score, and become more reckless and risk taking just to get the self shot and boss shot along with other bonuses involving getting close to the boss.

Died many times that way, even against bosses that are supposed to be pretty easy.

Wow, I did it.

Another save with everything unlocked in PCB. Stage 6 practice with Marisa. I actually managed to beat Yuyuko!

That's how you're supposed to do Super-Ego :)

Lotus Land Story extra no-bombs completed! It was harder than expected, mostly because of Gengetsu Spark...

Robin I hated you so much whilst I was doing it to begin with but then I got into it and actually did well...

Beat UFO Extra with no focus :D

Using Reimu A, since whilst I am good with Marisa's unfocused speed I am nowhere near good enough to try it with her unfocused. Also I now know the hax that is Reimu hitbox, jesus christ sometimes I was literally covered from head to toe in bullet and was still alive.

Total of 2 deaths and I think 4 bombs, all on Nue. 3rd non-spell is hatred and I still don't get it enough normally, nevermind unfocused (I got it in one run though lol). Bombed green UFO because I got tripped up and ended up at the bottom when the curvy lasers came down. The other two came in the 3rd and 4th waves of Grudge Bow. I MEANT to bomb at the end of the survival card but got clipped before that could happen. Then I run into a bullet behind me in the FIRST wave of Grudge Bow... that was annoying.

STILL, no focus run and only 3 spells dropped, pretty freaking great! Amazing how some cards that are nothing normally suddenly become EXTREMELY scary with no focus... Kogasa's first one and Danmaku Chimera most of all. Highlights include capturing Rainbow UFO and perfecting the stage with collecting lots and lots of resources ^_^

An outright silly failure story
I've been trying my hand at 12's normal mode with Kogasa just being a general pain and I wind up on her final spell and through careful bombing I win...!
Until an amulet nails me right as she explodes, Bonus Failed comes up, and I can see the Sanae portrait.
Still a loss, and as such didn't count towards Practice mode.

And here I thought that as soon as the boss died all bullets instantly go away.

that was the way until Touhou 10. Well, technically no but in IN at least you couldn't take damage once the spell HP went to 0. Nowadays though it's like a shockwave thing comes out to destroy the bullets, and until they are destroyed they are fatal to touch. So stay alert!

Now do it on HARD MODO! :3

Also, I haven't played Touhou in forever so please disregard this. (Except for the 13 demo, which I've 1cc'd with everyone except Youmu, because... well, it's Youmu.)

Wow.. Nue is so.. possible.
I got up to Undefined Darkness with 3 lives left. If I hadn't died twice on that one, I probably would've beaten her. SanaeB is a lifesaver for both the stage and the UFO's, and for Guerilla Tornado, too, because of her long range. I think I have found my partner for this stage.

Okay Kogasa's final spell is such a pain. I kind of figured out that I need to alternate "lanes" and going towards the upper/lower part of the screen but there's just so many amulets in addition to the arrow bullets. and the spell takes forever to take down.

Any time I get through it it's with a bomb (and probably lives), and by that point I've manged to derp myself into other bullets so Cloud Guy & Nun laser/bro fist me to death.
The Fist hit boxes are very exact, too. You can't skim them like with bubbles

I actually kind of wish Kogasa was the stage 3 boss or something, because she's been the one consistent stumbling block in all my failures in either Easy (current record is getting past Stage 5 Nazrin) or Normal mode (if I can make it to stage 3 I can typically make it to one of her later Stage Boss cards). Either her umbrellas get in the way, her spiral non-spells wall me off, or her rain drops get a bit too random. And of course the umbrella amulet parade of death final spell.

On the bright side I can consistently complete TH13 on a 1cc most of the time.

Finally... after two and a half MONTHS of trying, I FINALLY did it...

1cc'd UFO on Hard :D

Byakuren was a bombshell really, lost at least 2 lives without fully using the bombs, but I still managed to capture two spells (being Magic Butterfly and Nikou's Air Scroll) so it's not all bad. Ended up with two spare lives and no bombs, which all things considered is quite a good run. Overall I can't say I am dissatisfied, as now I have beaten every Touhou on Hard in 1 continue!

So next comes the real challenge...

Sooo, my first run of Mystic Square on Lunatic was a 3cc... wow those last two bosses are hard. I'm going to need to work on this game if I want to beat it!
