Re: General Planning Thread
SO. We've decided it's probably about time to actually check who of you guys with claimed names even still exist. Hey! That's me! I exist! ... frick I forgot to try to get back to this, huh. I had some neat ideas and how I could pull them off, but both time and actual level design talent are things...

Re: Name-Claiming Thread
Unless you want to wait for me to get more free time, I realize I'm probably not going to get around to my two claimed levels... "A Blue Pipe in the Starry Underground" and "Oh this? It's just your average sinking mountain level" So you can unclaim those two, unless someone wants...

Re: Discussion. Do we have a running plot or not?
I'm guessing if it goes with a hub it won't happen, but I really like the idea of an attempt at having every level have some plot relevance, ideally as dumb as can be. Heck, maybe even have it an excuse plot in-story? The Spirit of Rejected MAGL Levels leaves books outside of each level explaining h...

Re: Name-Claiming Thread
Okay, I'm not even sure if I should do this, I don't know how long this is going on, if my skills are quality enough for something that's not "literally anything with a goal gets in" still, etc, etc, but dang it, I want to do stuff again! It might be a bad idea to take more than one level,...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing
I'll try and fix things up to work with the things that were pointed out, but before that, I'll say that the switch song is actually a remix of sorts. Technically it's just an MP3 of a midi of the NSMB switch slowed down with different instruments but it shouldn't trigger things any more than other ...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing
I'm not gonna bother with excuses or whatnot, just gonna say, Out of Season update as I mentioned finally. :P Posted it in the submission thread and on the Wiki, but for those testing, here. Let's see just how many issues I forgot to fix! http://www.mediafire.com/download/ty4ywzidlft9q9d/dinnersonic...

Changes that I can remember...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing
Out of Season -Someone needs to make the level creator’s intended patch if they don’t. It will fix everything wrong with this level except that you should remove the warp out of the secret route back to the normal route as well. There's no reason to want to go back. Sorry for the delays, a mixture ...

Re: LunaDLL help thread
Sliding chains enemies like a starman when you slide into them, right? Then again, sliding doesn't kill nearly as many enemy types as the hammer, which also has chainability. Could a single invisible hammer be spawned, given some form of extra tag in the memory for LunaDLL to scan for, then glued to...

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread
I'm mentally toying with the idea for an A2MBXT Episode 2 level, and was wondering if what might essentially be a Doctor Who parody mixed with SMB2 would clash with the A2MBXT style. Sniffit Daleks, time travel level gimmicks and so on... Talking Time Bros had a DW reference though, right? Oh, and s...

If the only real newer than new changes I should take into account are that and the ice Cat Llama as a reward, I could just do those on mine and things would be fine, right?SAJewers wrote:I had to put a way out in that level because otherwise you'd be stuck with no way out, and would have to reload the game.

Re: A2MBXT beta testing
Just want to say, personal lifey things have prevented me from finalizing my revision of Out of Season, which includes a revamp to the P-Switch run, which is now a more forgiving block type switch run. The Raocoins are placed differently and don't require a confusing sign to explain, I've rebalanced...

Re: Never Again, raocow's in the top ten! He's been training
Looks like I missed both the Make a Good Drama contest and the Make a Good "Make a Good (x)" Joke contest. On a more sort of serious note, both the drama and the fact it related to a comical/meta level(I'll have to say it's one of my favorites due to that, actually) makes me think, could s...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing
Say, uh, if beta testing is happening now, does that mean it's too late to submit another revision of my level? IRL things prevented me from testing the changes to things like Raocoin and midpoint placement and the touched up goal.

Re: LunaDLL help thread
How hard would it be to add another value to all the commands, used purely as an identifier the way the unused one gets used for some values? I realize without that, anything that requires the type of byte would fall apart, which includes several of the ideas I tried to toss at you. Can LunaDLL be s...

Re: LunaDLL help thread
As I mentioned, then, I feel that some way to read values from memory/variables and use them for other commands(I assume as a feature of/alternative to ModParam would be easier to code than changing the way values work for everything) would open up a decent amount of possibilities. I'd also like to ...

Re: LunaDLL help thread
Do you have any plans on future updates to LunaDLL, with new commands and the like? There are a few seemingly simple and intermediate features that I've found I wish were there, during those moments when I get caught up in all the things it otherwise can do. The ability for ModParam to read values f...

Re: LunaDLL help thread
Boos aren't affected by nogravity, on or off. Your code, however, works perfectly! I believe my issue was using qw instead of df, as using hex instead of decimal doesn't kill the code but changing that does. I guess it doesn't recognize qw? I also noticed what seem to be a few issues with the HeartS...

Re: He Doesn't Make Anyone Mad, but MaGL X Isn't Over!
Yoshi's Island Ocean Cloud was pretty creative considering the wacky name. Shame about the pipes not working, and the abrupt end. The pipes did work. They were exit pipes for content raocow missed. Oh, they were? I guess I misinterpreted part of the "developer's commentary" then, since it...

Re: LunaDLL help thread
I was toying around with a new level idea using LunaDLL and I was trying to avoid doing this, but I need to ask a question. Is there any way to make it so a Boo doesn't move vertically, so I could make a sort of ground based Boo, something that chases you when you look away from it? I tried changing...

Re: He Doesn't Make Anyone Mad, but MaGL X Isn't Over!
Finally, raocow played something I made, awesome! It had multiple bugs that I swear weren't there when I tested, awesome! Have a director's commentary. Things like the deadly cold "lava water" and the suddenness of the ending are purely my own design faults, but those pipes that did nothin...

Re: He Doesn't Make Anyone Mad, but MaGL X Isn't Over!
Looking at several of these levels and hitting myself for not somehow finding some kind of common Yoshi's Island mid-point sprite you all used that would have been very useful in my level that somehow is ranking above all these. I also regret integrating a character filter directly into my actual le...

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread
I think I toyed around with editing the sprite and (apparently) decided to leave the SMA2 flat top for... I don't know why, accuracy? Maybe I edited the top and forgot to save it? The edit you all made works better while still keeping it as the SMA2 sprite swap reference, though. If I remember my or...

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread
Looking at it, I support most of the changes, loving the use of the plant drill thing in place of what I had! Though, I'm somewhat confused by the midpoint in the sky. I believe I did put it in a silly place before, but now it appears in a normal playthrough you'd never get it unless your normal pla...
