Re: Accents
I wish I could hear my accent through someone's ears who isn't Canadian. We're all too used to hearing our own so it becomes the norm for us and we don't hear it. You start to hear your own accent (along with other peoples') better when you do phonetics courses and the like. When you do, you can of...

Wouldn't New Zealand "six" sound like "sucks" to an Australian speaker, though? Australian "six" to a New Zealand speaker, on the other hand...

Oh man. I happen to be studying linguistics, and in particular phonetics, so I really like this thread.

Lilligant, Absol and Delphox are pretty cool too. As for favourite types, probably psychic, fire and grass.

Re: Talkhaus' Bizarre Adventure (anime/manga thread)
Ah, Kill la Kill. I must have enjoyed it, because I watched half of it in one sitting. Even if I usually don't like over-the-top hot-blooded action-y stuff. I also really want to watch the Madoka Magica movies, but I don't think any of them still air near where I live... Hey, they didn't air at all ...

Re: Last movie you watched?
There's particularly the bit right at the end, after Homura re-(re-re-)makes the world, where Madoka seems just about to figure out something's not right and go all goddess mode, but then Homura pretty much goes "nope". Like it went "Here comes Godoka to fix everything!... okay maybe...

Re: Last movie you watched?
Watched Madoka Rebellion, which was really good. For the first half I sort of half-figured what was going on, but then the second half happened, the reaction to which was generally "OHHHH..."
And then it ended on a rather, um, interesting note.

Re: Last movie you watched?
It's literally the same thing except with better animation. What they did for the first two movies is just went over the original series with a coat of polish. I'd say they differ in other ways, at least in length (sans OPs/EDs, first movie: c. 120 min to adapt c. 185 min of original series; second...

Re: Last movie you watched?
I enjoyed it It was a bit confusing when Madoka was there and everyone just accepted it Then stuff was explained and implied, so everything balanced out Unexpected ending Yeah totally, it's a really great mystery kind of movie because you're left in suspense and wondering what the heck for so long ...
