Re: How about a MaGL... er... C, or T?
ROMhacks are downright unlegit to make, but what's wrong with SMBX? These games like this makes the contest canceled shortly.Just because graphics are more horrible, the gameplay is stolen.Seriously, who wants this thing? If you've played it a lot, avoid it,it's no plan for those contests like this. Wh...

The engine doesn't currently support it, but it should be fairly easy to implement.

Re: AUS Project Discussion
That sounds like a good plan. We'll need to carefully consider what power-ups to use and how obligatory they'll be. It wouldn't be fun for the player to be forced to go back to levels they've already beaten to painstakingly search for secrets. And too many power-ups will make it really hard to coord...

Re: AUS Project Discussion
Well, the next step will be to decide exactly what we'll do with the engine. I think a linear level-based game might work, since that way we can use the old SMW-hack method of doing collaborations. It would be cool to have some power-ups, either permanent or temporary, that could be used across leve...

AUS Project Discussion
Yo. So the tools are mostly ready for this project to start moving, and it's time for people to start hopping in and to discuss what the project is actually going to be like. Like I said in the other thread, we should make something very small, but of high quality. Only a few areas and hearts, possi...

Here will be posted various resources and tutorials to get people started on modifying An Untitled Story. Guess I'll follow along with the necro-post and suggest ASMT or SMWYEAH!!!!. As much as I like AUS, I'm afraid it might not be as fun to watch if you haven't played the game yourself.

Re: An An Untitled Story Thing
Well, I was thinking we'd make a few new areas to add to the original map, but previously discuss and agree upon them. So though people would be mostly free on how to design their areas, they'd be restricted by some of the group's decisions.

Re: An An Untitled Story Thing
It's kind of a devkit, yeah! I actually started writing some documentation for AUS a while back, but got bored without having written much :P I'll supply the project members with it and maybe add things as requested. For the backgrounds, he has everything in the BGs folder, and the names correspond ...

Re: Petition to give user alex2 (not Ashan) his name colour
Omg, it's like an episode of the Twilight Zone, or something! We're all fighting for something we already have and we only realize we've been doing so at the end, after we've lost our humanity and caused horrible destruction!maket000 wrote:It seems most people already have blue usernames.

Re: An An Untitled Story Thing
I think it should just be an extension, because a whole new map would require a lot more content and a lot more coordination. I'm a bit worried that our new areas might unbalance the vanilla game because of the extra hearts we'll invariably want to add, since having 1050 health or 1200 would make a ...

Re: Petition to give user "alex2" his name colour back.
Back in my day, when a project died, we'd decapitate the leader along with his family to the third degree, in addition to removing his username color. But since I might be starting a talkhaus project soon, I'd better stop supporting that policy. It would be funny to have a color for admins of releas...

alex2, did you exchange your blue name for an avatar of a busty version of that touhou girl? It was a bum deal, if you ask me.

Re: An An Untitled Story Thing
Firstly, I really think you or someone should make a one-area 'proof of concept' showing that AUS mods can be done. I know there have been AUS collabs by others in the past, but they were never finished, and I just think it would be strange for a collab to start before anybody had made a normal sma...

Re: The Thread for Programming
When I was about 13, I hung around some of the Jedi Knight 3 modding communities and when I suggested a game for them to make, they pointed me to Game Maker, so I learned from that :) It helped to have two older brothers who studied Computer Engineering (which is what I'm taking now, as well). I'm o...

An An Untitled Story Thing
Yo. So I've had this idea of exploiting the talkhaus's proficiency for art and level design to create a mod/hack of An Untitled Story. For those who don't know/remember, it's an indie game that raocow let's played made in Game Maker 7. I've messed with Game Maker a fair bit, so I can serve as the pr...
