Re: What games are you playing?
Dixie's throw is clunky, which is more noticeable in DKC3, where Kiddy can throw farther despite holding the object in front like Diddy does.

Re: COMING UP NEXT now w/ BUCKET.TXT
So several members found out just today that Ys - the series in which there is (thankfully) no longer a plan to play them consecutively in a row - raocow has in fact played these games before? I got this idea about having a place to ask raocow whether a given game is something he has experience play...

Re: MAFAB 3 Train Station: AI Art Debate
Honestly now that raocow's put his foot down I'm reluctant about replying here or the thread continuing at all, but since there is a response I will give my own. I could probably throw some of the counters Please don't describe it as "counters" like this has to be a fight. Your whole post ...

Re: MAFAB 3 Train Station: AI Art Debate
I have yet to be up to date on watching MAFAB3 but this incident here is making me doubt if I should bother. I do grant the presence of potential problems with AI (and even before this discussion, I too was aware of concerns about these kind of things displacing humans). But I feel that posts making...

Re: Mirror's Edge - no more running
I haven't quite caught up to the latest video yet due to Ape Escape game not being done yet, but this game does feel relatively short. I guess all you really do (in the main game, not counting time challenge stuff) is find your path and reach the goal, aside from a handful of bags to collect.

Re: Ape Escape - Monkey King Escaping
Some thoughts on the first clean-up video: Notice how now that the game is cleared and the mission is officially monkey-hunting backtracking, the level says "Capture X more monkeys" instead of "This stage has been CLEARED"? Personally when I bring out the radar I would swap out t...

Re: Ape Escape - Dr. Zaius Awayus
The floating satellite base is an epic climax. The vibe in this video is that it tests the skills you've learned with challenges like the hoop + RC car switch puzzles (although the game might be introducing this stuff a bit too late in the game, it could have done more creative stuff earlier).

Re: Mirror's Edge - no turning back
The police in this game really feel bulky and won't go down easily huh? Quite a challenge to fight them when you don't have an overextended protagonist health bar.

Point of notice to new SDS2 participants.
Hello. If you came to this forum to participate in Superb Demo Sisters 2: For Superb Players project, you may have noticed a couple of threads from years ago discussing the prospects of the sequel to the first project. And you may have read that, back then, they were planning the game to be inspired...

Re: Ape Escape - Lord Monkey Fist, Escapist
OK there's the French Revolution device Crumbling Castle was kind of disturbing (for a game with ESRB rating of E) when I first played the game in the PS1 era. With the guillotines, the prison bars and chains, and the fast-paced music composed in minor that felt intimidating. I think the idea is tha...

Re: Mirror's Edge - no Aperture Science involved
The soundtrack for this game was composed by music artist Solar Fields. An iconic song made for this game is Still Alive by Swedish singer Lisa Miskovsky. (The title screen theme shares melody with this.) This and its music video are, personally, one of the most memorable songs from a video game of ...

Mirror's Edge - no game no life
Placeholder post for this afternoon when I write a proper OP Mirror's Edge is a first-person action-adventure game designed to immerse you into the perspective of the real-time experience of the protagonist, Faith, as she hops on top of structures and through obstacles. In this city where informati...

I think if I was playing I would have swapped the blade for the hoop when needed, because they're both melee attacks and that makes it mentally easier to manage the gadgets.

Re: Ape Escape - Erosa Erosa, Lost Sight Of At Ponderosa
I had forgotten that the ski minigame feels like an entire game ported into another, huh. The level design in this game is a bit odd in that you teleport out immediately after you find the monkeys you needed, without finding an exit to the level. It results in some level content that you just never ...

Re: Ape Escape - Monkey Flee
Ape Escape is memorable for me because it's possibly the first game I played where you can get a variety of tools that do different things, and with the concept of how there's a hub that leads to different types of content instead of just jumping into the main levels. Also some of the highlights of ...
