Re: AZCT: A Zelda Classic Thing - Basic Planning Thread
Spoilers: (although at this point you've played it if you're ever going to) J-BVnvAsiz4 There is precedent in the best game in the Zelda series. and frankly i think the game requires a shmup segment if only because this game doesn't have any spotty Touhou references yet Honestly, a final boss (or at...

Re: AZCT: A Zelda Classic Thing - Basic Planning Thread
Hey, you heard right! I haven't made any formal announcement yet, but we are looking for more hands on deck. Here's some of the main tasks you could take on: - Level 3 (Leever's Nest by Riolu180) is in need of a custom boss -- AFAIK he's already got sprites and he knows what behaviours he wants to i...

Re: AZCT - Shoe's Zone (Hammer dungeon)
When the project gets closer to completion I'll fill the empty rooms with small goodies, or clues about other areas of AZCT like in Zelda 1.

Re: AZCT - Shoe's Zone (Hammer dungeon)
Thanks! Moosh playtested but he does love his difficulty. You didn't find any bits disproportionately easy? A lot of these reports were already fixed for the version that'll be up today. Unfortunately the sideview spikes just do not seem to work with the engine, so on my polish pass I'll write a scr...

Re: [SPOILERS] Dungeon Playthrough Notes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
Level 3 (Leever Nest) I love the atmosphere. I enjoy that the rooms are still simpler shapes reminiscent of Z1 like in Levels 1 and 2, but mixed up with a lot of new stuff and a lot of sand. Visually it looks very good and makes good use of the classic tiles. Some rooms could stand to lose one or tw...

Can do, for the sake of screenshots. Sooner rather than later we're going to implement custom sprites though, yeah?

Re: [SPOILERS] Dungeon Playthrough Notes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
I have a feeling that I included a "super-fiery-death-gleeok" in the pit of trials (Destroyer's Shrine). I kind of ignored everything I knew about good dungeon design when making that in order to make the be-all-and-end-all of difficulty, up to and including borderline unfair difficulty. ...

Re: Dungeon Playthrough Notes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8)
I'd be fine with making the wall behind the first gleeok into a fake wall. I'm not sure how to make it stay dead on death without it screwing up/getting screwed up by the final Aquamentus fight for the plot coupon, though. Suggestions would be appreciated. I don't think that the wall needs to be ch...

Re: Dungeon Playthrough Notes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8)
The intent with the double fire gleeoks is to come back (much) later when you can actually maybe handle them. You don't need to kill either one in Wyvern Cavern in order to win. And in order to do that, I had to play with the flags to make sure killing Aquamentus didn't remove either of them. Mhm, ...

Re: AZCT - Shoe's Zone (Hammer dungeon)
beep boop shoes are invading your dropbox Don't mind the weirdo aesthetic issues with some layers, they are in the process of being ironed out. The layers should all look perfect now, so yell at me if they don't. If you've played the dungeon prior to this edit (I don't think anyone has yet) you'll b...

Re: AZCT: A Zelda Classic Thing - Basic Planning Thread
Yeah, it's been a ZC day. There's a Level 7 playable on Dropbox now that's done enough to be criticized, best discussed in the Shoe's Zone thread of course.

Re: Dropbox Sharing: Conveinence for all of us
I was going to ask how to reproduce the bug, and then I started walking rightwards. :D It seems to be shifted over to the right four squares from where it should be. Checking out the DMap to see what pause subscreen we're using (Active, New B, whatever that means) then checking out the corresponding...

[SPOILERS] Dungeon Playthrough Notes (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8)
Heya. I'm just trying to polish up Level 7, and in trying to figure out where it should lie on the difficulty curve, I'm playing through the finished dungeons in order. So, I figured I might as well take some notes. Here's the first three. Level 0 (Wizzrobe's House): Perfect. I think it's a wonderfu...

Re: AZCT: A Zelda Classic Thing - Basic Planning Thread
So, I'm a bit confused now. Exactly what is and isn't being worked on now? The Hookshot dungeon seems complete, but are there any other dungeons that are being worked on that I thought weren't? Judging by the tracking sheet, yes. Hiya. I made a few posts last year that must have been lost, just con...

Re: AZCT - Shoe's Zone (Hammer dungeon)
Yeah, Shemp, this is perfect. Your hatred for footwear zones hasn't dulled your talent at all :D I like that it just keeps going, never getting extremely melodic or thematic -- it echoes the menial work of the factory minions, steadily working away at a demonic-capitalistic perversion of the origina...

Re: AZCT: Level 6, Old <townname> (Bracelet Dungeon v2)
Heya! We don't think this will be an issue -- town would be a good place for our dungeon, but we could just as easily put it in a cabin or somewhere elsewhere in the overworld. We'll sort it out later. And I don't see any other conflicts. Speaking about the idea itself, I think you've got a winner. ...

Re: AZCT - Shoe's Zone (Hammer dungeon)
Shemp darling -- rhythmic and plodding, deliberate. Hearing it might bring to mind footsteps, or a hammer coming down repeatedly. Think of a factory , but with a slight touch of sweetness, like the subtle, almost unexpected sweetness of a bite of peach cobbler. Sneaks up on you. And then for the sec...

I'm trying to muddy the waters, Para? For what reason, its own sake? The only lynch that's been brought up is you, and I'm sure you're not saying I'm trying to distract people from you. I think I already have a rough idea about someone who might be a mafiosi, yeah, I don't wanna say too much though....
