Re: Boss Discussion - NO RAOCOWS
I was hoping I we could compile a solid list list of people who have signed on to do the sister boss fights. I think I saw YCZ was working on one, and Kil mentioned starting a few things in the plot thread, etc. I've been fiddling with ASM recently and making a lot of progress, but I wouldn't want t...

Mmm, some of the platforming's most demanding physics, malicious level design, and TLs4 without save states?
Brilliant! I second Super Marisa World.

Re: A2MT Plot thread - UPDATE FIRST POST
This is a little funny but I came with the intention to post almost the exact opposite of what Alex-R just wrote. I was going to say, remove the message block idea that tells us straight out about the artist and/or his motivations. I imagine the whole plot as very cliche/tongue in cheek funny, and a...

Re: smwcentral madness: Vanilla 2010
Jeez, the levels today are the epitome of everything hackers do wrong by current romhack standards. I mean yeah, some of the earlier levels were stupid and frustrating but at least they did something that set themselves apart, even though they ultimately failed. The "Marsh" level is the pe...

Re: ASM Help Thread
This makes things so much simpler you wouldn't believe. I learned how to patch with xkas, so at least some progress here, but when I tried applying Levelcode.asm to test Ersanio's demo ASM of 105 the rom refuses to load. It sticks at the black screen before the nintendo icon shows up. Everything oth...

Re: ASM Help Thread
Oh wow, thank you for offering yourself as a resource. I really appreciate the help. I'm want to get rolling with this so I hope you don't mind if I forgo further thanks and pleasantries and get right into things. I've started reading through the basic ASM guides linked from SMWC and got myself &quo...

Re: A2MT Level ideas
The sadist in me wants to recreate one of the most evil engines in all of gaming by using level asm to alter SMW's physics giving it the feel of Super Marisa World. As someone who just started reading about asm a few hours ago, how feasible is this? The ideal level in my head would be a short but di...

Re: A2MT Plot thread
Plus, most of the serious parts of ASMT fell flat to me, like they were trying too hard. If Sliding Scale of Silliness Vs. Seriousness is kept consistent, we'd be on the right path. There were no serious parts of ASMT Max, but I'm taking that to PM. Now with relevance, and repetition to some earlie...

Re: A2MT Plot thread
Mmmmhm. This is also a lot to read through. I'd like to contribute to the writing of this hack so it's a little less, well, bad . . . I understand there are differing opinions when it comes to mario hacks and varying viewpoints are never a bad thing, but with that in mind, I will go so far to say t...

Re: Cave Story + Casual Swearing = Moniker
I like this.
Though I've tried several times to imbibe a good Cave Story LP, I would often lose interest pretty damn fast. But no more! Moniker, your touch rivals that of Midas!

raocow I don't think anyone would blame you if places 57 through 33 were suddenly accidentally deleted forever. I know this would be unfair/kind of lame/that your hands are tied on the issue/etc. raocow, not to mention that you like to stick things out until they practicably kill you, but I will un...

There is a profound truth in your new thread title.
Also MoF at last! I'm excited. I haven't played this one legitly for a long time. I have too much fun with the Marisa B glitch (payback for stage 4 in my eyes).

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3
Keeping this invigorating Kirby 64 discussion going, I've got to say that the fireworks were by far my favorite power. What was it? Fire+bombs? Ohhhh man did that break the game (not that that's really very hard to do for Kirby 64, most the mid bosses don't even move and just sit there letting you p...

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3
Something about the shift from C Minor to F Minor gives it extra appeal. After listening to a bassoon of almost identical arrangements, Dream Land 3 does an excellent job making the piece sound unique. My ear isn't great so I wouldn't have guessed the key but, in contrast to C minor, F minor seems ...

Well, I just wanted to throw in a quick thank you to the entire community here. This whole thing felt like something pretty special, and I got a lot of enjoyment out of watching this LP. Ah Moniker, it's writing like this that makes me look forward to the next cut scene with the excitement of a small dog that has just pinned a much larger dog beneath it.Moniker wrote:Ergo, once we resolve the paradox of modern government, we just might pull off the perfect collab hack.

</opinionsandshit> In all my time lurking I've come to value your opinion as one of the foremost authorities in romhacking S.N.N., though I must entirely disagree with your thoughts on collaborative hacks. I think the only reason for this is just a matter of experience, and that experience leading ...

Haha, that cut scene was one of my favorite parts of the hack. That last line was a bit more then was needed though. The "stupid horse" line was endearing enough, and the quasi-subtlety made it hilarious.
And perfect music in the ruins btw.

Re: Hey guys watch me play Touhou 12.5
Oh wow, you're doing Double Spoiler! Shoot the Bullet is probably the Touhou game where I feel the most like a black striped bass, floundering aimlessly across the splintering dock of the scruffy bearded fisherman, who's grinning just a little to widely as he dreams up ways to prepare me for dinner....

Re: ASMT: Hey there raocow, here be everybody.
Just wanted to say job well done to all involved with creating the boo sprites used today. The boo family is usually my favorite among all things Mario, and I think this is probably the slickest they've looked. So again, job well done. I half-expect this to be a "Poison Gas" level after se...
