Re: Tabletop Role Play/Wargame General Discussion Thread

I should have mentioned this before, but in Monster of the Week I played a "class" called The Mundane. Some of the abilities you can choose for the class give you experience for acting in foolish but genre appropriate ways. "Huh, I'm going to go investigate that mysterious sound all b...

Re: Tabletop Role Play/Wargame General Discussion Thread

I started in university residence, I saw a poster on the wall stating that someone was starting a Dungeons and Dragons (5e) campaign. I decided it would be a good excuse to socialize, so I sent an e-mail saying I was interested and that's how I met my first group. The campaign we played was Curse of...

Tabletop Role Play/Wargame General Discussion Thread

Something that I finally have an excuse to do; a general thread about tabletop role playing games because those are the rage these days. We'll throw wargames in here for now because it's a related topic; if lots of people have Warhammer 40k minis they'd like to show off we can split wargames into a ...

Re: What games are you playing?

To stop myself from being upset about Breath of the Wild, I decided to play Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls . It's a simple, silly, and cute platformer, that's also free. If you really want to, there's a lot to do in the game, collecting all the secrets and getting A ranks, no death, and berserk ...

Re: All the S@nics & Knockles - Rivals - Bede

As it turns out, echidnas don't have fangs, they don't even have teeth. They grind their food, termites, using their tongue. Small or no teeth are pretty common among mammals that feed exclusively on termites.

Re: What games are you playing?

So I was planning on going back to Breath of the Wild, but my wii u is no longer reading off of the external drive that I but my save file on. (This isn't a case of the machine not recognizing the drive, it just doesn't open files on it anymore.) So that sucks. I put a lot of work into that save.

Re: What games are you playing?

Took a break from Breath of the Wild to finish up Shadowrun: Dragonfall . At the last stretch of the game I decided to side with villain, all the other characters said "Do not do it." and I did, and I'm pretty sure the ending I got is supposed to be the bad ending. The story of Hackerman t...

Re: All the S@nics - Genesis (GBA ((yes, really))) - Nintendon't

Now this is probably me being ignorant as to the specifics of game design, but why not put the port on the more powerful DS? At this point there had already been a functional 2D Sonic game on the system at this point. I don't remember 2006 to well, was the DS not widely adopted back then? In 2010 th...

Re: What games are you playing?

I've collected the required 441 korok seeds in Breath of the Wild and I never want to look at the korok mask again in my life. I also completed all the side quests (except Trial of the Sword). After that I started the Champions Ballad DLC pack, the new shrines are a lot of fun and have great gimmick...

Re: What games are you playing?

I am continuing the fool's errand of trying to find enough koroks in Breath of the Wild to get all inventory upgrades. I'm almost at 400; 440 of the 900 are required. If you can't find a korok in an area, it means you didn't look hard enough. After a while you start to figure out what kind of areas ...

Poor Eggman, he seemed so excited to observe the end of the world. A massive scientific discovery all to himself and then the timeline gets changed.

Re: What games are you playing?

Now I'm wondering if my opinion of Metroid Prime Wii would be different if I played more FPSs; I thought the controls were fine. I would consider the third prime to be the best of the three, if it weren't for prime one's weapons. In the first game, even late into the game you need to switch between ...

Re: A World Without Color - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) - Die

I feel like a final level where you play through corrupted versions of previous levels would have had more impact if you didn't have to play through the game three times to get there.

Re: All Of Sh@d@w - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) - Don't Touch It!

I think one of the differences between 06 Omega and previous iterations, is that 06 here is more neutral, and less aggressive. In Heroes and Shadow, Omega had much more tension in his voice and went on about how other machines are INFERIOR CONSUMER MODELS and MUST BE DESTROYED. In 06 Omega just isn'...

Re: the eleven fungi sparks -- move aside chaos emeralds (MaGLX3)

I'm touched that somethings in my level resonated enough with someone to have references to it included here. I forgot to mention it the first time around, but the "Scientist" sprite edit was made in like 2 minutes in paint, if you were to take a good look at it, you could see some hastily...

Re: All Of Sh@d@w - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) - Don't Touch It!

The opening cutscene of Shadow the Hedgehog's scenario is the most Shadow the Hedgehog thing since the game Shadow the Hedgehog, and I love every minute of it. Real life monarchies tend to have weird gendered rules; I've come to the conclusion that in video game land the general rule is that when a ...

Re: What games are you playing?

Defeated Thunderblight Gannon in BotW Master Mode. I was dreading that boss because it's a pain in the ass in Normal Mode and Master Mode makes enemies regenerate health. As it turns out giving an enemy whos entire gimmick is being hard to hit and stalling health regeneration lead to more pain. At t...

Re: All The S@nics - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) - If You Have Time To Worry, Then Run!

Grounder alluded to this in the shoutbox a few hours ago, but the Archie comics do make Omega much more sociable and even a little soft. And yes, Omega does have something of a crush on Blaze in the (Archie) comics; he likes the way she sets things on fire. I have been slain by the sword of my own h...

Re: What games are you playing?

Took a break from Breath of the Wild to start Shadowrun Dragonfall the DLC/second campaign in Shadowrun Returns. Returns is really more of a campaign building game with some high quality dev campaigns thrown in, the first one is called "Dead Man's Switch", even though I just call it Shadow...

Ah yes, Omega, the most romantic of all Sonic characters.
I just know that someone is going to correct me and expose my ignorance by saying that in the comics he is a more heartfelt individual.

Re: All The S@nics - 🎉06x05 🎉 🥳Birthday🥳 🎊Spectacular🎊 - Act 30 Clear

I love that despite now being a somewhat realistic HD human person, Eggman is so over the top that he needs to gesticulate as if he were still a cartoon character.

Finally, my suspicions are confirmed, Eggman is an Italian.

Re: PureSabe's 16 bit Magnum Opus! Let's Play Rockman 7 EP! Update#7: Scrapped by Flame

With how spammy the final stretch of Junk Man's level is, I can see what you mean by the game being horse shit, it's just that self burning is ridiculous.

I have seen fire and explosive be made different elements in the Epic Battle Fantasy games.

I found the pause a the end to be way too funny.

Re: All The S@nics - SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (2006) - If You Have Time To Worry, Then Run!

Eggman's been shown to have pupils in the first three cartoons, the American/PAL artwork, and Mean Bean Machine. It is arguable that those are somehow cybernetic, but it's not like they defy belief much more than Sonic's canon eyeball(s). I totally forgot about the cartoons. I must have a mental bl...
